IMHO, I don't think you can or should practice moderation when it comes to HFCS. It prevents the hormone that tells our brain that we are full from doing its job. So we are constantly feeling hungry. It's in so many processed foods, from salad dressings, barbecue sauces, energy bars, cereals, breads, on and on. I think when it comes to HFCS, you need to eliminate it completely if you are having problems with hunger.
Now if you are already avoiding HFCS, I would say eat more protein also.
