Unhappy Weight gain during TOM? Difficulty: not giving in to the cravings!

I have just a general question. I am on Weight Watchers and have had a very steady, gradual loss since I began. I am not eating any differently, staying right in my POINTS range every day, but TOM has arrived and I gained a pound and a half this week. I'm doing everything the same as always (I am a ruthless journal keeper), but I am up a whole pound and a half! My question is, do you all notice this too? How much weight do you gain during TOM? Do you find that you drop it quickly when he finally leaves? I've not had any trouble in the past with this, but I am getting to a point where I feel like weight loss isn't as easy as it was when I was more overweight, even though I have a lot to go. I'm doing everything the same, but it is much slower now than it was in the beginning. Help!!!!!

I think it's water weight and it might come from your food, especially if you eat a lot of salty foods? Maybe you're oversalting food that you cook at home and you don't even realize it? I'm not a doc but from my experience even if I eat one little sunchips bag (the little kind that has all of 10 chips), I balloon out around TOM. I gain about 2-3 lbs and I lose it very quickly after TOM ends. It's very tricky and unfortunately, aside from taking pills that prevent it, (pamprin, midol) I can't do anything about it...

Thumbs up Add a few more servings of Water

You may just need extra water to help.

Last week was my TOM and I had a lovely lunch out at the Cheese Cake Factory. I did have 1/2 a piece of heath bar crunch cheese cake after my Giant Salad lunch, glass of champagne and summer roll. I said I was PMSing so it was okay. I did stay within my points that day and that lovely meal kept me from eating an entire bag of chips, few candy bars and a martini when I got home because I felt satisfied.

Sometimes I give in to temptation because I try to be "good" and it back-fires.

I have found for me, it is best to have what I want but in moderation.
( and lots of water, decaf iced coffee, hot tea, more water..........)

I always gain 2-5 lbs during my period. It is gone by the following week. I don't get on the scale during this time.

Just the opposite--I tend to lose during TOM. Cravings are worst the week before. I usually end up giving in to the cravings just once (and I try to keep them small--like this time I ate one Reese's PB cup).

I find that when I'm stalled (usually water gain), staying away from ANYTHING processed helps.
