Default Planning for Thursday June 22

B- chocolate protien shake made with skim milk, piece of whole wheat toast with a hard boiled egg
L- popcorn (I have the worst craving!), and some different seasonings
D- taking my dad out for a late father's day dinner - I will do my best!

Since it looks like I wont be eating much I will probably add a diet coke in there somewhere and maybe a piece of fruit - trying to keep my calories some what low for dinner. I have been going over the last few days I am trying to stop Does anyone know how many cups of popcorn are in one of the microwave bags?

Working on my 80min bike ride now

Freakishly identical to yesterday!

B - 2 pieces of whole grain toast, natural peanut butter

S - non fat plain yogurt, 6 oz blueberries

L - big salad, spinach leaves, dried cranberries, grape tomatoes, carrots, chicken breast, fat free balsalmic vinaigrette

S - tall non fat latte, biscotti

S - 1.5 cups cherries

S - cut up veggies (grape tomatoes, yellow pepper strips, sugar snap peas, baby carrots)

D - I picked up a package of frozen shrimp stir fry from Trader Joe's. It looks pretty good, lots of vegetables and it has only 70 calories a serving. I plan to stir fry in a little oil and add a little garlic, spinach and stir fry sauce. I'm going to eat it over brown rice.

Courtnie, if you buy one of the lite versions of popcorn, the calorie hit isn't bad at all. I usually buy the lite 100 calorie single packs of Kettle corn. It's a lot of popcorn for only 100 calories (and a gram of transfat which is bad bad bad I know!)

http://www.generalmills.com/corporat...aspx?catID=74#
(here's a bunch of Pop Secret products so you can compare/contast calories)

Pop Secret extra butter has about 600 calories, 39 grams of fat and 18 grams of transfat PER BAG. The Pop Secret Lite Butter has 300 calories, 18 grams of fat and 6 grams of trans fat per bag. I would definitely recommend the 100 calorie single serving bag Man, I remember how the old me would eat a whole bag of Microwave popcorn with the squeezy melted butter on top at least once a week. I never once looked at the nutritional information - it's no surprise at all I was a heavy person, really, I didn't WANT to know.

I got the Pop Smart and it is 170 calories for 8.5 cups. But I was just wondering how many cups are in a whole bag! I think I read somewhere 14, but I just wanted to know if anyone else knew.

Slight change to breakfast, and I am just too hungry, so I had half the protien shake (other half for tomorrow!) and I am going to add another piece of toast with my egg. As for dinner, we are going for seafood! mmmmmmm I don't think I can screw up TOO badly, but I will probably slip a bit only cuz I never take my dad out!

Red face

Okie dokie here goes:

B - 1.5 cups skim milk + 1 cup of Scrunchy's Frosted Flakes

S - Nature Valley Granola bar (2/pack)

L - 1/4 cup brown rice + roasted bell peppers and potatoes

D - 1 box frozen baby brussel sprouts with 1/2 a super large onion cooked in 1 tbsp soybean oil and spices.
1 8 oz container Dannon coffee flavored yogurt (YUM! This is my dessert!)

Courtnie - no WAY are there 14 cups in a bag, if you're talking the regular microwave sized bags? Must be 14 servings you read... I would guess that it's closer to 2 or 2.5 cups per bag.

To eat at the cookout at work or not to eat at the cookout.....

I think I am staying with my plan today and let the cookout here go on without me....

True, let me know what it turns out to be because I've been known to scarf down a whole bag of those watching TV and I don't realize it until my hand's pawing around for some kernels and there's none left. Strange thing is, I don't drool when I smell popcorn. I eat it when I have no other snack left and I'm hungry.

If you read the back of the Pop Secret box, it says a serving is 4 cups and each bag has 3 servings per bag. That means each bag has around 12 cups.

That's why I like to buy the single serve bags, they are just 4 cups (1 serving) per bag.

Click on the link I posted:

http://www.generalmills.com/corporat...aspx?catID=74#

Find the flavor you bought, click on the link and read how many servings are in each bag. The nutritional information is clearly posted! For example, Pop Secret Homestyle - 4 cups per serving, approximately 3 servings per bag. If you do a little math, that is 12 cups per bag. Either eat 1/3 of the bag or buy the single serve bags.
