I am reading about sugar addiction vs. drug addiction, I am wondering what does this statement mean "'The difference between sugar addiction and narcotic addiction is largely one of degree? Thank you! I am a recovering drug addict and sugar is like crack to me!
It's not phrased very clearly, is it? I think what it means, is that sugar and narcotics are both addictive, but the difference is the severity of the addiction and withdrawal. The phrases "to a greater degree" and "to a lesser degree" kind of mean this.
Narcotics are worse I would guess--but sugar does have that addictive quality to it. You have some, you want more, you have withdrawal when you stop.
