Help Help Help!!!!!!!!
OK first day here.....I am Brit and I live in AZ but not the warm part....I am at 6500ft elevation and just stepped on the scales and I am 203!!!! 5 years ago before I quit smoking I was 140 and tottaly happy now I am a big fat cellulite pig.......I can not work out up here at all!!! Have you ever tried to go walking at 6500 ft??? HOLLY CRAP! So anyways I am not a junk food eater at all and as a matter of fact my doc is baffled at why I can not lose weight since everything I eat is healthy and not over done. I have had every test under the sun done and no health probs. Is there anyone else with the same situation minus the 6500 ft??? I have even tried prescription diet pils and not a pound gone...Something is sooooo wrong. Does anyone have any idea what i am doing wrong?
Brit

So sorry you are having problems. I highly reccommend counting your calories at fitday, or in a notebook to see what you are taking in daily. I know before I felt that I didn't eat much, but turns out I was eating over 3,000 calories a day and didn't even realize.
About the elevation... I moved from Southern California (like 200 feet below sea level) to the mountains in Nevada (like 6000 feet above) and I thought I was going to die the first day I walked to school. But everyday it got a little easier, and then it was no problem. Maybe try a little at a time?

Thanks guys!!!
Ok I went to fit day and signed up. I have tried WW and on there you have so many points you can use and I was doing fine. Still no weight loss though. I guess I will try this and see what I can do....I can not seem to find a scale that says how many calories I should consume to loose.....any ideas there?

I'm not sure what difference the elevation thing is gonna have so whatever I say is a guess at best. What does fitday say under calories burned before you add any activities?

Sweety, it is always so heartbreaking when we finally come to the realization we aren't who we want to be. Listen to the other posters. Get on a good calorie counting program, start slow with the walking and your body will eventually adjust to the high elevation. After all, if we weren't able to adjust, there would be no mountain climbers, right?
Break your goals down into small increments, like 5 lbs at a time, give yourself a non food treat when you reach a goal, like a new bottle of nail polish, a nice new book, etc. Make bigger longer goals, like 20 lbs and do something a little more special for yourself like a new outfit. With the amount of lbs you need to lose, you can do it in nothing flat.
Good luck to you! I know you can do it!

Because if you don't add your sleep they are going to think you are being active all day. Once you add your sleep in it drops the amount of calories burned a lot.

Youve got some great advice so far! I can sympathize with the elevation, and they try to say it doesnt effect us...pshaw! Just dont give up! You'll figure this out! Fitday is an excellent place to start but you have to be completely honest..and count EVERYthing! Good luck!! have a wonderful day!
