Unbelievable

  • Thanksgiving, combined with all the munching and snacking I've been doing over the last week on things like cookies, holiday treats, and even candy, I fully expected to be up a couple of pounds on the scale. But I got on the scale this morning and I've actually lost weight.

Not that I'm complaining, mind you, it just sort of surprised me is all with all the food I've eaten lately.

Have you ever gotten on the scale expecting to be up and you were down instead?
  • Way to go!! Enjoy it. I was soo hoping that I would lose this holiday but alas still stuck for the time being.
  • That's totally awesome! Maybe you were more
active than usual and didn't notice? lol
    What a nice Thanksgiving gift.
  • cant say i have.... in fact im a lil down bc i think im the only one who did gain and i really didnt cheat
  • I havnt the heart to step on a scale.....was thinking maybe around the 10th perhaps then i'll have the courage

  • I was afraid to get on the scale this morning too. In fact I was thinking of putting it off until next week. But then I said no, I wanna know how much I've gained so I know to be extra careful. And I was down instead of up.

Like Kristy said, maybe I was more active and just didn't notice. I did do a lot of extra housecleaning and moving furniture around and stuff to prepare for Thanksgiving day. But I didn't think it was really all that significant. Maybe my body needed the extra calories or something
  • The same thing happened to me. I was down 1/2 a lb. on Friday (my official weigh in day) and this morning I'm down another pound and a half! This, after being on a stall for about a month - go figure.

I was mostly on plan over Thanksgiving (just over 400 calories extra for the day) but I've been eating cookies & chocolate for the past several days. I always log everything on Nutridiary though and I've managed to stay pretty much under 1600 calories. I'm going to quit with the sweet stuff now while I'm ahead! I got the cookies, etc. for our son who is home from college and guess who ate them?

I hope the weight stays off till next Friday so I can change my tracker.

So have I. I'm going through a serious "I NEED SWEET STUFF NOW!" phase.

I really hope it passes soon, lol. I haven't gone over my maintenance calories, though, but I still shouldn't be eating all that junk.
  • We just took our son to the airport and afterwards my husband and I ate the last two pieces of Lindt Dark Chocolate with Orange and Almond Slivers and thats it, finito!

One thing I noticed is that if I have a small piece of chocolate before a meal it kills my appetite a bit.

I'm not going to tempt fate by thinking I can keep this up and still keep losing for long!
  • Don't feel bad, yesterday I ate ice cream, cookies and pie.

    Darn these holidays, anyway.
  • well I think you guys did good and a big cheer for you all. I didn't lose any but i know why that happened I did great Thanksgiving day and I should have right then thrown out the dessert BUT NOO instead I left it laying around and I got into it. BAD BAD GIRL so I gained a pound. Today I have thrown out the rest and started with a clean slat. I know I will fall down but now I can also pick myself back up and go again. So here we go towards Christmas and I know what to do. Have a good day and drink your water "yuck i hate water".lol. and do all the right stuff. WE CAN DO THIS
