Need advice

  • Hi...I,m new and this is only my second post but I love reading everyone elses. I need to know what everyone thinks about Weight Watchers? I have tried everything else ,the last being LA weight loss. I lost about 30 lbs there and had 30 to go when I quit because it was to expensive. I thought I could continue on but of course I gained every lb. back. I really need to get this weight off. I feel horrible and I am so self concious. So.....any suggestions or advice?
  • I dont have any problem with Weight Watchers. If something is working for you and its a healthy way to a new life style change than thats all that matters. If this is helping you and you are learning a new way of eating and exersising that helps to benifit you , I say great.
I have never been to Weight Watchers myself so I cant say from exsperiance on how I think it is.
Alot of people have done it and it didnt work for them but also a lot have and it did. If its working for you and its helping you understand what you have to change in your habits to increase and obtain weight loss then great.
  • Well, I liked weight watchers. I maintained my loss with ww even after I stopped doing it. I liked the fact that it's real food and it's more about portion control and learning to eat better and exercise. I also liked the weekly meetings and the support. It seemed a lot more REAL than a lot of other diet plans. And a lot of the recipes were cool, I still use some of them! And it's cheaper than some of the other stuff! LOL You can always try it and if it doesn't work for you, move on! It doesn't hurt to check it out in my opinion, provided you can afford it.

Good luck to you with whatever plan you chose to go with!
  • I did weight watchers many moons ago when I was a teenager. It is really good as the plan fits into your life, and teaches you about portion sizes, what to eat, calorie control etc. 18 years on I still use what I learnt there, even though the program has changed a lot since then.

I gained all my weight back, but not because Weight Watchers failed, I did. It's long and complicated and I won't bore you with it all.

Now I am losing the weight on my own, with help from the staff at my works gym who run a weight loss program. I don't like group weigh ins, and I do get trapped into comparing myself to others, which in turn makes me give up. Psychologically I am better without the support of others in real life, and use this site as my main source of weight loss help.

I think the biggest battle in weight loss, is finding out what works for you as an individual. We are all different, with different needs, and it took me a long time to understand that!
