Last night I went on a historic home tour downtown that lasted about an hour and a half. I was surprised how much a slow, controlled, slightly uphill walk worked my legs! I think I got a tiny bit of cardio in from swatting the mosquitoes, too.
I woke up early today and did 30 minutes of dumbell exercises with the stabilty ball then went off to the gym later did an hour water aerobics class and walked in the pool for an hour YEAH! Now my day is off to a good start
Wednesday evening: (had a dance performance earlier that day, posted above)
~20 minutes strength training
Thursday:
~15 minutes yoga
Friday:
~30 minutes strength training
~powerwalked 3 1/2 miles
~rode bike along walkway and through neighborhood 5 miles
Today/Saturday:
~did 3 3/4 miles on the local walkway...powerwalking with jogging intervals thrown in. (Walked for 3 miles, jogged for 3/4 mile in 1/4 mile intervals.)
~rode bike outside for about 1 1/2 miles
I made the decision to start exercising again today.
I walked a mile (a Leslie Sansone mile in my living room, but still a mile). I originally planned on two, but after the first I did a quick cool down and realized it was probably not a great idea to push it.
You know, until we went bowling this afternoon. Four games, 2 1/2 hours. I must have gone temporarily insane, but man it was fun.
Yesterday, I tried to do the Denise Austin Personal Trainer DVD, but, alas, I'm still but a lowly beginner and it was too much for me. So, I took Denise out and put in Veena and Neena and did two of their workouts, Basic Moves, and Fat Burning, and boy are my calves killing me!
Since my calves are so sore, I may take today as a rest day, but I might do a little bit on the stability ball. I've started using the thing as my computer chair, thinking that I may as well be accomplishing SOMEthing while puttering on the 'puter.
