My boyfriend, who is also trying to lose weight, (aready lost about 80 pounds but has 20 more to go), and I have many things in common. Some of those are not so good. Well, maybe this is good because now that I have identified it I can help both of us!
Anyway, we both have a portion control problem. We will eat way past full when it is really good, and unfortunately my cooking falls into that catagory.
So I came up with a few ideas to help with this.
Before serving dinner, I set aside the portions for the meal. Then the leftovers are put into portion sized containers for reheating and put away. I got 3 cup containers that have 1 cup and 2 also marked so I can make even portions.
So far the two meals I have made that weren't breakfast, which doesn't have leftovers, it has worked really well. We were both tempted to eat more, but felt silly digging into already packed up food and just drank some tea/diet soda and gave it a few mins and were plenty full.
Anyway, I wanted to hare that epiphany as I tink it's going to really help us!
