Default Newbie,not sure where to go or what to do on here

Hey everyone, Im new to this site and just wanted to say hey whats up. Ive been reading all the threads and everyone here seems really cool and supportive. So to say a bit about myself. Im 21, got a great boyfriend, who is also trying to lose weight. Im 221 pounds (oh god) I think that i really have an overeating problem. Its not what I eat. Its how much I eat. It gets ridiculious sometimes. Another issue is that my boyfriend also has a few pounds to lose. I get so comfortable with him that it just seems like I dont care if I eat around him. I feel horrible because I dont want to throw him off either. So Ive decided to give this forum a try to recieve some support and give some too. Thanks guys!!!

Welcome! I'm fairly new here, too, but I've found it a great help to read the postings. It seems to make me more conscious of what I'm eating and how much I exercise.

Everyone is very supportive here. And there are lots of threads. Just find a group with which you have something in common. Are you using a particular diet plan? Limiting fat? Limiting sugar? I think I saw a group of people in their 20's. I'm a member of a group of 30+ year olds, hoping to get fit by forty. But any group will be glad to have you.

And I wouldn't dump the boyfriend. Just make a pact with him that you need him to support you morally while you are losing the weight, and that you could use his help, too. It might bring you two closer. Or, you're going to find out that kind of person he really is isn't as good as you deserve, and you might not want to be around him anymore. My husband is trying to lose weight too, and so we walk together every evening. It's great. Since we've started doing this, we've been having some really good discussions instead of just sitting in front of the TV.

Yea me and the man decided last night to just try and do things that dont involve sitting around the house, looking for food haha. Maybe me and him will start going for walks. As for my plan I am following the basic low fat low cal exercize plan. Cut down on my carbs a bit. Drink lots of water haha.Anyways,thanks!!
