nftm HI!! How was your Christmas? I couldn't have done much worse on Sunday, and Saturday was kind of a train wreck too. I have been back on plan since yesterday, but didn't post because my husband and little boy had a stomach bug and were puking all day yesterday. My husband had rotator cuff surgery on Thursday, so its not been fun! It sounds like you were doing a good job of moderating the amounts of sweets, good job!! How was your little guys bday? I am sorry that your digital scale is not matching up with your old scale, but you can do this!!! I know tomorrows weigh in for me is not going to be good at all...

Welcome lyaga and loveatfirstsight!! I hope you guys enjoy this site as much as I have!!

lyaga You know, it might be a magical decade to get out of lol, I have been bouncing up and down between the mid to low 170's forever!! Hopefully we will see the 160's soon!! Yum, pumpkin pies.. that sounds so good!

loveatfirstsight congratulations on losing your first five lbs!! I also have around 40 to go! Things have slowed down considerably for me, but I have been doing this diet thing for about 13 months now so it was bound to happen!

Wow kfunk, you've done great so far! That's inspirational! Sorry about the puking family

I posted in the challenges tab that I did something a little crazy; I went on a website and made a bet with myself that I would lose 40lbs in 6 months or lose a large sum of money that I bet. That was a month ago and I am already off track...I need to destroy these 170s! It is ridiculous how little you get to eat when your metabolism slows due to age and laziness...

Hi kfunk! I'm so sorry that your family got sick. I hope the bug will pass you by and you won't get sick, too.

Our Christmas was good, if a bit hectic. I'm glad the holidays are over, they are detrimental to weight-loss, lol.

Okay, official weigh in Wednesday. Ack. With my new scale, I'm at *facepalm* 179.8. Aaaaggghhhh!!! I was completely on track yesterday, so some of this has to be period bloat and cookie bloat. I hope... I am tempted to check what the analog scale says against it.

Edit: the analog scale still says 176. 😋 That's okay, this just makes me more determined to stick to my diet.

lyaga Thank you!! In the past few weeks I have learned about these "diet bets" they are very intriguing!! I hope that the scale starts moving in the right direction so that you win some money! That sucks about your metabolism slowing down. Do you count calories?

nftm Thank you, I am super hoping that I don't wind up getting it. Its crazy that I haven't yet since I was the caretaker for the other 3 sickies! I would definitely pull out the analog scale for a comparison!! Bloating is a B*tch, I hate retaining water! I hope that you get a big whoosh when you are done retaining. I am going to make a point of drinking over a gallon of water today to see if that helps me. I should be getting my period within the next week, so I think that might be part of my gain.

176 - so much worse than I was expecting

I peaked at the scale this morning to make sure I was on my way down and nope... 176.4. SO frustrating. Those 2 days of wild eating were totally not worth it

Don't feel bad. I'm still teetering between 180 and 170 at 179.6. I peeked, too.

Today I had the day off from work, so my husband got us a sitter for our three small children. We haven't had a "date" in many months. We went to the movies, saw Star Wars, went out to eat at a Chinese restaurant, went shopping... I didn't stick to my diet at all. But it's okay, because today was meant to be enjoyed, and I had fun. ☺️

I will be weighing in tomorrow because it is the last day of 2 of the challenges I am in. I am hoping that I was able to get back down to the 172's!

Your date sounded amazing, good for you guys!!!

Good luck with your weigh-in, kfunk!

Just wanted to tell everyone Happy New Year! I know we're all continuing with our diets, but I'm going to make a resolution to stick with mine this coming year.

Whoooo, great job, kfunk!

Tomorrow is weigh-in day. I admit that I peeked at the scale on Saturday... Or was it Sunday? I don't remember. But it said 181. 181! I was just 😱😱😱 Hopefully tomorrow will show something better.

179.0 today. I was hoping for a bit lower, but that's okay.

Welcome Slimmer Me!

Good job kfunk! I hope by next Wednesday I will be where you are at now.
