I'm finally starting to get serious about weight loss again. My lowest weight was 127 when I was 22, now I'm at 175 lbs and I'm 29. I would love to get back to 120s, but 130 would be great for me. I just started nutrisystem again today and look forward to being active in these forums!
I'm at 175 today. I plan to go in to 2017 in the 160's! I've been back and forth between 160's and 170's for a couple of years. Lowest dip was a brief stint at 158 a couple of years ago with occasional spikes to the low 180's. I want to say good by to the 170's forever!
I haven't been on a decades thread in a long time, but I am feeling the need for some camaraderie. Hope it's okay to join.
I weigh weekly, and sometimes not even then when the scale is messing with my mind. As of Monday, I am at 178.6. Finally 100 pounds down from my highest weight! Really think I want to hit roughly 130 and then see how I feel from there. The 160 in my signature was from when I began, and felt sufficiently unattainable at the time that I just put it down. I am pretty sure that it's not where I want to stay, but I am not going to change my goal until I actually hit this one.

Hello! I have been slowly working toward a weight loss goal, from 230 pounds on a 5'4" frame going toward a goal of 135 (maybe). When I say slowly, I mean years. I lose for a while and maintain for a while. Certain achievements were awesome, but also tended to make me stop for a while--getting into onederland, getting into the 180s, being able to shop in "regular women's" sizes instead of "fat girls" (my label). I was mentally gearing up to be diligent about my journey again after my birthday and Christmas because I am a stress eater, and this time of year is stressful for me. But then I got sick for a week and slid into the 170s. I had been gaining and losing 2-3 pounds in the 180s for months. So I decided to see what I can do now.
Sorry for that long intro, but I hope that this thread will help to encourage me. And maybe I can encourage you too!
I had almost forgotten that I joined this thread until I weighed in this morning. It doesn't look like there is a lot of activity here, but I will try to do better about checking in regularly.
Desertemerald - You are probably doing this the right way. I tend to lose significant amounts of weight, gain significant amounts, lose it, gain it, etc. Going down and maintaining, then going down and maintaining, is awesome. Glad you have been able to "accidentally" lose to get into the 170s. Hopefully, we'll both slide right through them.
Lurchmama - 174 looks like progress! Woot! Closer to the 160s than the 180s!
I am down to 176.2. It was a 2-pound week. Trying to be happy with this. If I could do a steady 2 pounds per week, that would be fantastic. But I am making progress, and that's much better than the alternative.
I am the worst at posting on this thread. I don't even think about it until I weigh, and I only weigh once a week. I had another good loss this week, though. Down from 176 to 173.
LurchMama - Oof. The bumps up are the worst. They happen inevitably at some point, but it doesn't make it acceptable. I hope that it is just sodium, and that dropping the water weight will result in a significant whoosh. We gotta progress to the "getting out of the 160s thread" soon, right?
Hope this last week before Christmas is great for everyone.
I was disheartened because I ended up back at 182 pounds between Christmas and New Years. Sigh. But, I worked double shifts this weekend, walked over 40,000 steps during work, got sick, ate very little, pushed a lot of fluids, and lo and behold, today I was 177.9. So......back at it....
LurchMama - The holidays are the worst for weight control! And getting sick is a painful way to get back on track. But . . . back down and firmly out of the 180s. Woot!
I am ready to recommit as well. I went on vacation, and despite mostly good food choices and a lot of exercise, I am roughly the same as when I left. Cuz I made some high-calorie choices too. But it was a great vacation. =)
172.4 for me. Pretty soon, you and I are going to have to start checking out the 160s thread, LurchMama.
