Yes, I'm rethinking everything because my activity level is the same and things haven't budged for months now. I believe it will be better when the weather is better and I can be outside hiking steep hills. That seems to get the ball rolling...when I have to pull myself up the hillside with walking poles.

Welcome dede! You're gonna love it here.

CoolMom--awesome! Is this the waterfall hike again? Are you going alone?

Momwithdogs--Wtg on the regular eating. Keep working at it and hopefully it'll become habit.

Diana--damn hormones. Are you feeling any more energized today?

Veil--I think we all struggle with persistence. I for one. But you are doing great.

Flower--my scale is a putz too.

Solarplant-- Wtg on saying no to the bar food! That is really hard to do!

Penny--I think taking your own food is a great idea. Especially if your friends bring junk. Then you can eat when they do but not go too far off plan. I would take lots of good foods.

NcJane--I hope you are feeling back on track. What messed you up?

To everyone else a wonderful on plan Thursday!

everyone!

welcome dede!

solarplant this is the video I saw, thought it was cute https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cO7iCbtlcIc

coolmom jealous of your hike, enjoy!!

mossy I'm with you on the warmer weather helping get things moving.

pennyb when I'm traveling I try to look towards vegetarian options, but always something I'll enjoy, going for fish/veggies over red meat/carb options can naturally save some calories, I don't see anything wrong with bringing some stuff you want to snack on like the fruits and veggies. Enjoy your weekend and plan on getting back on plan when you get back.

Flower

syckgirlsfv I've heard that sitting for the CPA when just finished with school is a good idea, while you're still in that mode, gives you additional options.

Ian smoked fish and eggs, sounds yummy

Diana

w-167.2
b-oatmeal, craisins, cashew milk
l-spring mix, banana peppers, olives, mushrooms, sprouts, yogurt dressing
d-pastrami, Havarti on rye w/3 potato salad
s-banana

bet to all

Hi Everyone!

NCJane I hope today was a better day for you.

Penny Good idea adding extra veggies to your micro. meal. I do that, too. I think you have so very good ideas to implement on your trip. I really like the idea about staying away from alcohol. I turn into an eating machine when I drink.

Solarplant Good job avoiding the bar food.

Flower @ satan's spawn. I hope the scale was more angelic today.

Veil Good job on the long walk.

Momwithdogs Great job with that daily goal.

CoolMom I hope the hike was fun and you had a good day.

Dede1948 Hi and welcome to the check-in.

Syckgirlsfv I have never heard of the Kabob Factory but it sounds awesome!

Fluffypuppy I do feel better today. Thank you for asking. I am amazed about the changes the body goes through. The hormones are very different now compared to how they were only a couple years ago.

Kelijpa I hope the weather is beautiful when you get to FL.

Waving Hi all around! Enjoy your evening!

Dede, welcome to the group!

Diane, I'm glad you found your energy again today.

Mossy, I feel ya on the long plateau. I hope you can find the right formula soon. Maybe I can catch up to your 146 and drag you along with me.

My hike was great today and I am feeling so sore already. Just what I wanted! It has a steady incline for a big part of it so my average speed was only 2.3 mph. This is the Forest Park hiking trails right outside the city. I popped out at the Japanese Garden, walk through the Rose Garden and down the main shopping street in NW Portland to get back to my car. A very nice hike and great alone time to think my thinks.

I ate as planned plus a serving of veggie potstickers and I'm still at a big deficit.

CoolMom--that sounds lovely. How long did it take?

Diana--glad you are feeling better.

Kelijpa--looks like you ate well today again. Good job!

870 cals at 10:30 pm.

Feeling anxious tonight. New therapist was a no go. She said she couldn't afford to take any more sliding scale clients. Why she couldn't have told me that over the phone I don't know. I'm going to meditate as soon as the Leafs lose.

Exercise: 30 minutes YouTube Pilates, 60 crunches.

B: Apple juice early, and then pasta, tomato sauce, and an egg.
L: Black pepper tofu, spicy ketchup, collard greens, and rice.
S: 1/2 cup Greek yogurt with some frozen fruit.
D: Cup of raisin bran, almond milk, and a few crackers with peanut butter.
---
Veil: I get gym membership free through work. It's not in my building, but it is free. Which is nice! Except the patrons are...not so nice sometimes. Oh well.
And thanks for the fasting tips. I wouldn't be doing it for weight loss, but rather for spiritual reasons. I'm not great at focusing on that, so I wasn't sure how to get better. Practice, right?

Diana3271: Yep, alcohol makes me very snacky pretty often. It's fun, but risky!
I'm glad you're feeling better!

CoolMom75: Thanks!

momwithdogs: Moderation is always good. I just have trouble sticking to moderation sometimes. This is practice - I want to be able to maintain when I hit my goal, and that means being social, too.

Syckgirlsfv: I'll definitely have fun - I always do with this crowd! Maybe TOO much fun somtimes.
We're going to a cabin of a friend's friend on a lake. We will be doing quite a bit of walking, which is good.

Fluffypuppy: Providing healthy snacks is my go-to move. Sometimes it works, and sometimes the artichoke dip beats me.
I'm sorry it didn't work out with that therapist. I agree, she really should have told you it wouldn't work over the phone.

kelijpa: Thanks! I'm going to try and stay mostly on plan, which is to say not overindulge but not be really strict. It's a fine line, for me.

Good morning all!

Sun is out, very cold, hopefully the last of this!

Big breakfast today, it was awesome, going to get some packing done and such, buy some dog food and greenies, Hunter's going to camp, I'm calling it fat camp they want him to lose a couple pounds, so I'm sure won't be over feeding ...

Pennyb as far as I know, this quote is attributed to Mark Twain, "everything in moderation, including moderation."

Have a great day everyone

W-168.0 up 0.3 for the week, stupid TTOM

the kabobs last night were AMAZING!!! I have leftovers, of course. I'll use them for breakfast tomorrow before school so I don't get hungry. I had one chicken luleh kabob and one beef, basmati rice, and wheat lavash. We walked almost 3 miles round trip so I burned off close to 300, though that doesn't help the sodium water gain. oh well.

B - belvita
L - Asian chopped salad (veggie only)
S - greek yogurt if I want it
D - not sure, maybe my fav pizza if DH remembers to pick one up at the store

We'll either walk 4 miles or ride 11 tonight. Depends on what we feel like doing when I get home.

Hi Everyone!

I'm starting to feel like TTOM is lurking again. I had a very busy day today and didn't get a chance to workout. I also had a frustrating time at dinner. I had to eat alone because DH had something going on. I didn't want to get stuck in traffic, so I didn't want to drive to where I wanted to eat. Then they didn't get my order right. I was already frustrated with the busy day. I ended up eating some of the food I didn't order. I requested to get my correct order. Then I decided that I would get that portion to go since I didn't need those extra calories. I have been in this type of situation before and allowed things to really go downhill. I was not happy with eating the unplanned foods, but I did take the other home and didn't indulge any further. This place has an ice cream machine and toppings, which comes with your meal. I never eat it, but I have when I was in this type of situation before. I am proud of myself for not indulging and going all in.

CoolMom Your walk sounds like it was a zen time for you.

Fluffypuppy I'm sorry things didn't workout with the new therapist. I hope you can find someone who will work with you.

Penny Have a fun weekend.

Kelijpa Aww, poor Hunter going to fat camp. Did you get everything packed? I don't like packing for trips since I feel the need to take so much.

Veil Good job on the dancing. Sounds fun.

Syckgirlsfv Did you get your favorite pizza?

Waving Hi all around! Enjoy your evening!
