I completed a major goal!

  • I just finished my first triathlon last week- and I am overweight. It was big and daunting and full of excitment and awe.

We don't have to wait to be thinner to do all the things we long to do- we can do them while we are heavy and losing!

I felt myself sincerly embrace who I am as a woman, instead of what I think others are judging me to be due to my size. I am not obese, but I am 50lbs overweight from my goal weight.

I hope to encourage others to attempt things like this, running or walking a 5k to start, or do a sprint triathlon or even just train for one... it takes the focus off of just losing weight and more into getting strong and feeling your body achieve!

Now my focus is on my next goal- losing the weight by my "event" date- Nov. 1st, what event? Just chose that day to train (lose weight) for- similiar to the focus I used to train for my tri- I am using that same time line and motivation to lose the extra weight.

I invite you to "GO FOR IT" with me!
  • GOOD for you, Santana! What a GREAT accomplishment!

Thanks for sharing with us. I think too often we put life "on hold" while we try to lose the weight. We need to be more like you and just live life to the fullest regardless of size.

Many good wishes to you for reaching your newest goal!
  • wow! i envy you...waahhh. as in really. hope i could have u as my buddy. i am planning to loose about 47 lbs. up to the end of november. hope you could help me out :-(
  • Santana!!!!
  • Hey orange! Join me in my current goal- losing 50 by Nov.1st- looks like you have picked your goal "event"- now make it happen! Don't just wish or hope to lose the weight- you have to make the choice to do it and then let nothing stand in your way.

I will be updating my journal with some goal motivating stuff- check it out and keep in touch- you don't need "good luck" speach, cuz it don't take luck, it takes work!

    Peace!! Santana
  • How do you plan to loose 50 lbs. by nov. 1st? please give me some tips...
