Have you ever tried mindfulness meditation? It helps me keep my stress in check to listen to these audiobooks in the car or when I'm walking around doing errands: Jon Kabat-Zinn Wherever You Go There You Are and Thich Nhat Hanh The Art of Mindful Living. (I checked out the CDs from the library and put them in itunes.) The books are also around on kindle, itunes, amazon etc. I never liked any of this stuff before but I sure do now.

I run for anxiety too. When you feel that close to death running, it doesn't give you much time to worry about anything else!

But as long as you get a run in every day or so, I find it a forgiving master.

Scale is up a pound and change and I "FEEL" it. I felt it as soon as I put my feet in my slip ons upon getting out of bed. Maybe the ovulation weight gain is "happening" now? So clueless through perimenopause. Or perhaps something salty is affecting me - who knows.

Today my older son is going to university orientation - dad is taking him. I'll be meeting up with them after dropping my younger off to elementary school this morning. So, eating will be off for lunch - if I eat lunch. Maybe I'll make that the main meal of the day as I "can" if I want to.

Kind of waiting for the world to slow down a WEE bit as it's been a rush for the last month with finishing HS, prom, graduation, college orientation, my MIL leaving for a two month vacation, etc.

I have stuck to my low carb eating plan very well the past few days, and the scale has finally moved below 194. Up until now, it felt as though the scale was just stuck there! I don't usually discuss my ups and down, but maybe being more forthcoming will be to my advantage.

I don't usually track, although I should, and I have not been exercising due to heart palpitations. I have switched to decaf to see if that will help. So far so good!

Hey all! Had a great weigh in today, down 2.6 pounds! I'm glad to see that since the first part of the week I slacked on working out. With going to baseball games at night, I just didn't want to get up early to get to the gym. So, I hit it pretty hard on Friday and Saturday and really watched calories. I also started my challenges for abs and squats. Feeling pretty good.

I really like this thread, and reading what everyone has to say! Thanks!!

Hello all,

Diana we'll be married 12 years (we met a little later in life). We're planning to go to a music festival in NY called Old Songs, we went last year on our anniversary. It was fun but not really conducive to weight loss goals...

B- oatmeal, van almond milk, 1 egg poached (again almost hard boiled...)
L- greens, hot & sweet peppers, Italian dressing, balsamic, smoked oysters
D- chicken, homemade cole slaw
S- orange, banana, donut (see how I snuck that in, office celebration)
E- walk, arms, abs

Exactly! No room for anxiety or panic attacks when my heart is already going 160bpm. Medication only takes the edge off so running has literally been a life saver. Thin AND sane. Kills two birds. Not to mention my resting rate is 67bpm.

I try to run minimum 5 days a week. My Friday and Sunday schedule conflict with the gym hours so those are usually rest days by default.

My resting heart rate is 45-50bpm. I have always had a slow heart rate which caused some concern when I was 281lbs!!!

Anyway, up 1.2lbs today to 168.4lbs. Not sure why. I didn't poop yesterday. That's definitely part of it. Calories will be about 1500 today. I won't count tomorrow since I have some leftovers to put in my salad and I have no idea what the calorie content is. I am guessing I won't be far off of my usual intake.

Hi Everyone!

Ian Have you tried drinking a very warm cup of water when you wake (after you weigh ) The warm water seems to be helpful for some people to get things moving along. Enjoy the fresh salmon.

Novangel Does your gym have trainers? You could probably get some tips and advice from them. I'm sure they also have worksheets that you can work from. I know there are worksheets online too. Keep up the great work.

Mars I have dabbled in meditation. I mostly do it when I am very short on time. I will look into those recommendations.

Berry You are doing a fantastic job.

Wannabehealthy Hi and welcome to the check-in!

Alaskanlaughter I hope you feel better soon.

Slashnl Congrats on the 2.6 pounds.

Kelijpa Ha Ha I totally understand about the festival not being conducive to weight loss. That's most things that I like to do and enjoy. It's all a challenge.

Sonickel Hi and welcome to the check-in!

Evening, all!

Weighed in at 261 lbs this morning, down 2 lbs from yesterday. Yay water weight! Maybe it's my imagination because it really is too soon to tell but when I look in the mirror, my face doesn't look as puffy. At 261 lbs I still have the gaunt look going, kinda worried that at 120 lbs my face is going to look skeletal.

Went to the grocery store and bought some bananas and soymilk. I don't have a problem with whole milk, it does make me feel full longer than the skimmer varieties but for the amount of milk I drink in a day, it spoils before I can finish it all. Soymilk keeps in the fridge longer so... soymilk it is.

B: Homemade chai w/ whole milk, sugar; Ritz crackers.
D: Subway 6" ham on white w/ cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, olives, mayo; diet coke.

Feeling pleasant. Not exactly full but not hungry or craving, either.
