Vanity pounds
I have lost a fair bit of weight.
It's been fun. Got me off of BP and cholesterol meds. And made me fitter and healthier. Turned my life around. Mostly for the good.
But I am now looking at losing the final 10lbs or so not for health but simply for vanity.
I have come this far. It's time to finish the job.
Vanity pounds loud and proud.

ME!!! FFS I want this 5p gone!
I'm having a very hard time being consistent.. I don't know what happened, I used to spend 5-6 days a week at the gym well for over a year and now I'm getting lazy and gained 5p. So mad at myself.
I'd love to be 130-135 but I can't seem to get any lower than 138p (which is fine) but 143 feels yucky in my jeans.
I needed this thread. I was just coming here to vent because I didn't do jack tonight.
Start over tomorrow.

Hi Ian, congrats on your weight loss
Though I'm FULLY aware of the health benefits of getting back to my 120's, I admit I'm doing it mostly for vanity. I'm pissed at myself for gaining 15 pounds since last spring, when I was trying to lose the last 14 pounds, now it's a whopping 29 I have to lose sigh.
I will vainly state that my goal is to be able to wear my sexy lingerie again for my bf by the time our 2 year anniversary comes next March. I'm with you!

I'm with ya! I got around 10-15(max) to go. Its all for vanity sake. I feel a bit terrible for admitting it, but its true I've been stuck in the mid-high 130s for months and its driving me crazy I know what I need to do to, but its been hard to commit. But now I'm ready to finish this

Good luck Ian. If you want a structured program Ultimate Diet by Lyle Mcdonald works great.
Personally I couldn't do it (lose the final 10) but I suspect you can.

I'm with you all the way. Vanity pounds are so worth it -- but only if you can keep them off without undue sacrifice. Exercising four times a week has allowed me to maintain a BMI of about 20 while eating 2,000 cals per day, so for me it's been very doable.
I sometimes gain a few pounds after a holiday or business trip, but so far I've managed to reverse the gain before I get in too deep.
I love wearing skinny jeans and two-piece bathing suits at age 57. Pure vanity!

Congratulations on a great accomplishment. Sigh. Maybe in a few months I can join you folks. In the meantime, Ian, please mosey over to the Featherweights section. (Take your sardines with you.)

I need to lose about 10 real fat pounds, and then the other ten would be vanity pounds, but I'll tag along for the journey!! So to 20 for me

RawrGirl wishes to at least get back to 129. (She finally reached that goal 2 years ago after 22+ years of trying, but then gained who knows how much, if not all, of it back since this past February).
When she was 129, she was trying for 124, sometimes contemplated 119, just to be able to say she was under 120. So anything less than 129 is def pure vanity.

I have 10 vanity pounds to lose to get back to my ticker weight. Its weird that I'm 10 pounds heavier and still fit in the same clothes as I did when I was 160.
