ive been feeling really good today despite getting a crappy night's sleep....little son crawled into bed between us in the middle of the night and tossed, turned, kicked, wiggled and put out so much body heat that i slept terribly....plus i didn't even have enough room in bed to lay on my back....

im trying to focus on eating more protein...and limiting more of the carbs to evening because i really think that eating carbs sets me up for a DAY of poor eating....and if i make them off limits then i will just dive headfirst into them...so i have this compromise with myself that i will try to focus on protein during the day and have my toast or whatever in the evening....we will see how that goes

i did a harder weight workout today...3 sets of 12 reps each instead of 10 reps each...added a cable row machine which i can do 40 pounds on fairly easily, which means tomorrow i bump the weights higher ....and did most of my lower back extensions on 160 pounds instead of 145

after work DH and i are taking a two-hour emergency preparedness course...the first in a series of 8 courses that, if you complete all, will credential you as a community-wide disaster responder...with my busy schedule i may not be able to make all 8 courses though

I'm still dieting. But man am I having a week. My job security is up in the air, and what's worse, is that the sale is taking place before the start of Christmas Season, which is the bulk of my job, and I already have numerous events planned. I have no idea how this is going to effect things.

I'm sitting firmly at 375, because THIS is my week at a glance:

Sunday: Dinner for bf's grandma
Monday: Dinner at in laws while we fixed their computer
Tuesday: Dinner for nephew's birthday
Wednesday: Dinner for best friend's birthday
Thursday: Dinner for friend's child's birthday

I'm staying in my calories but it's hard to control carbs. So I've maintained for the last few days. I can live with that. Didn't get to swim over the weekend as the pool was closed for an event, and haven't been able to try out the new yoga class yet, but hoping to get back into the swing of things soon.

Hi Everyone!

Tomorrow is our monthly hair appointments. We used to go to the Japanese steakhouse. The last time the food was too salty for me. I had not been there in a couple of months. I think we might go to Panda Express tomorrow. I can better plan my meals. If DH wanted to go to Panda Express I would bring my food from somewhere else. Tomorrow is Survivor so we will be pushed for time and I won't have time for all of that. I need to look at their menu again. But my thoughts are beef and broccoli and veggies for the side.

Newleaf Keep up the great work!

Psychic Keep working and keep the focus on 168 and beyond. You will get there.

tyla Good job exploring your exercise options.

Larry Congrats on the 8 pounds!

Ian Sending good thoughts your way for you and your family. Hang in there with all the added stress.

Ilovevegetables
Take it one night at a time and then build on the progress. About the water, maybe you can fill a container with water and make that your goal for the day. Keep working on building up to what your goal is.

Time4me2change Good to see you check back in today.

Mrs Snark Good job getting back to your plan today.

MintyBadger Hi and Welcome to the check-in!

Alaskanlaughter I think the extra protein will help.

Radiojane Good to see you. I hope things calm down at work. Hang in there.

So I was looking at the Panda Express website. It appears if I get the beef and broccoli w/veggies as the side, my total calories will come to 430 Calories. Of course the sodium is off the charts at 2510 mg. I used their numbers when I went there one time before and I didn't even show a gain from the sodium. It seems farfetched that these numbers are correct. If they are off by 50% I will still be in my calorie range. Any thoughts? Anyone else eat at Panda Express. When I went there before, they did not pile the food up like I have seen at other "take out" restaurants.

Hi, guys!

Today, I had 1200 calories.

I had to get blood drawn, and the nurse was horrible at it and really hurt my arm. Also felt weak afterward. As a result my only real exercise for today was a 15 min walk.

I managed a walk - most probably to the amusement of my neighbours who are likely to be having a giggle at me huffing and puffing my way down the street.

I had a chicken salad for lunch which is a darn side better than what I would have been eating for lunch a week ago. At the moment I'm looking at the Dukan diet which I think may work for me (I am a real protein lover) and am looking at starting that next week.

Good Morning, Everyone!

Last night I added on: Restful and Rejuvenating Sleep from Gael Chiarella's PM Yoga Meditations

I have been having TTOM symptoms for the past week. This morning I woke 30 minutes early. I get hormonal insomnia around this time, too. I suspect TTOM will start today or tomorrow.

Calories for yesterday: 1480 +
Weigh In: 160
Up: .4

Bindii Hi and Welcome to the check-in! You are off to a great start.

Enjoy your day!

Welcome to all our new members.

Yesterday's Calories: 1689
Today's Weight: 170.2

B - Spinach & Asiago Bagelful + 1 Tbsp. Peanut Butter
S -Pizza Flavored String Cheese
L - McDonald's Southwestern Grilled Chicken Salad + SF Vanilla Iced Coffee
S - Yogurt Covered Pretzels
D - Pizza Hut Hawaiian Pizza (2 slices)
S - Pumpkin Cheese Balls + Multigrain Crackers
Exercise: 30 Minutes Walking @ 2 mph (-96)

Went over my calories a bit yesterday. I forgot my lunch yesterday, but I recovered well by having a salad (which is only 390 calories, with dressing included). However, I wasn't planning on the pizza and I had no self-control with the cheeseballs (which I found at Aldi yesterday).

Either way, my weight was down again today. I'm hoping that it stays. I'm going to the gym after work.

It's pretty spectacular. I was in total awe when I was at the pyramids...

So checking in 2 days in a row.... had a good day today at work, I Wore a new dress I bought this summer, put in contacts and so many people complimented me and asked who my date was with. My grade 12's were especially receptive to my 'new' look... too funny.

Food wise I am dong okay so far.... but those dreaded evening hours are ahead of me.... and I still have to force myself to do some exercise.... (I will check in again after I complete) I am currently in the middle washing dishes and will then make some dinner.

One drawback to Egypt life, eating foods with Arabic labels.... which is why I am focusing on portion control instead of calorie counting (overall, I check calories of foods in English)

I hope you all have a good day

Thanks Diana for the kind words.

Up 0.8lbs today so back in the 170s.

FIL has stabilized. So we'll see what happens. His condition seems very volatile.

Breakfast: 2 pieces of toasted low-calorie bread with raw mushrooms and mayo light. 2 anchovies. A few olives. 1 coffee, milk, no sugar.

Lunch: Sardines, mussels, small piece of salted mackeral, small piece of salted cod, small piece of haddock, 5 anchovies, lettuce, pickled garlic, tomato, brussel sprouts, beets, corn and bean salsa, red onion, corn, kidney beans, olives, argula, hemp seeds, french onion dip, olive hummus.

Dinner: Will drink lots of beer (Green Flash Imperial IPA)

Exercise: 50 minutes weight training in the morning. Will try to run 6 miles before lunch.

I hope I can do boxing tomorrow. I really missed it yesterday.

Good Morning, Everyone!

I'm proud to say that I've lost 1.4 lbs. I can't believe it. I think it's my Zumba classes, since I took 2 in a row, and too tired to eat more when I get home. I ate about 1200 cals on those days. The rest of the time it averages about 1400. I'm so proud, because it usually takes me an entire month to lose that amount.
