Default Exercising 4 A Month Straight?!

So I've started back on my plan about 7 weeks ago.
I've lost 13lbs only because I started taking zoloft and exercising.
I have been slack this past week & a half and I just NEED to FIRE UP MY ROUTINE

Has anyone ever exercised for a month straight?

I exercise every day - usually twice per day. I haven't NOT exercised in months.

I exercised for a month straight a couple of months ago.
I lost next to nothing and then I was 'forced' to take a couple of days off because I was sick and couldn't even face exercising.
Then I had about a 2-3kg (4-7ish pounds) drop. Which is really weird, so now I normally exercise 5-6 days a week.

No. I subscribe to the theory that if I can work out every single day, then I didn't work out hard enough. I take 2 rest days minimum and hit the other days like a beast. I don't count walking or going to a park as exercise though, I do something mildly active every day.

^^ good advice
I'm just trying to find a healthy medium. For some reason I'm an ALL OR NOTHING type of person, and at times I feel like I can do more or should do more then I get anxious and it just a vicious cycle.

Yeah the body is a weird thing.
I do know that the body needs adequate rest. It's probably the anxiety in me that feels I need to GO,GO,GO!
Maybe I can aim for 6 days so I can at least give my body and mind 1 day of rest

I've gone an entire month of exercising before. I alternated days where I went at it hard and then had my "rest" days where it was a lighter intensity. I still worked out to the point where I knew I was actually doing something, but it wasn't as intense as the previous day. Going no holds barred, full-steam ahead and not listening to your body when it tells you it needs a break is an injury waiting to happen.

That being said, I didn't really lose weight that month. I did lose inches though, so don't rely 100% on your scale. In fact, I gained weight after my harder days due to water retention, so if you do decide to go for an extended period of exercise, take measurements at the start.

No, never. I've been rock-steady at four 45-minute sessions per week for the past 20 months. It seems to be my sweet spot: any less and I don't derive the full benefits, any more and I start to resent the routine.

I have tried to exercise straight every single day. I usually get through a couple of weeks, then something happens (super busy day, special event, getting sick, etc), and I end up taking a day off.

I think that working out every day is a good goal, but it shouldn't be all or nothing. For example, when I miss a day after promising to work out all the time, I always feel a little sad and down on myself. Or, I tell myself that it is okay because I have done *so much* working out recently, then the one missed day turns to two, then three... etc.

For me, I have gotten the best results when I allow myself to take a day or two off when needed. I also find it helpful to be on a routine that allows for lighter exercise mixed with harder exercise. For example, I have a couple exercise videos with different levels, so on days when I am tired or have less time I will do a shorter, less intense 15 min workout instead of my usual 30-40 min one. This usually lets me keep up my streak without killing my muscles

You're welcome to join us at the monthly exercise thread -- many of us make a commitment at the beginning of every month. It's great for experimenting because if what we try doesn't work one month, there's always the next month to try something new.

I'm following a plan where you do functional 6 days a week, core and stretches basically; strength 3 days a week, lunges, squats and arms with dumbbells; cardio 6 days a week. One day off, it's working so far, you can be flexible with it. It's in bob greene's total body makeover book, it's a good read.
