I'm old, 53, 5'5". Chose 140. Currently running around 137/138. It's not been an issue to maintain, I feel good, and look good all things considered.
I actually could lose another 5#'s, that is hanging on my belly, butt and inner thighs, but, I just don't see that happening. I think it would be to tough to maintain.
So, in my opinion, it's arbitrary and relative. To a lot of things. Body composition, lifestyle, general health, and so on.
When you get to the weight you picked out, you can always evaluate and adjust if needed. Or just hang with that for awhile and see how it's going.
