Get out of the house (or wherever). Drink as much as you can, or fix a bowl of green beans to fill your stomach with something. The I-have-to-have-something-now cravings will probably relent in about 15 minutes if you outlast them. At least, mine do.

Good luck!

You could buy a single serving of salt and vinegar Popchips, they are only 100 calories.

I personally have chosen not to have any food off limits. Treats though are used very sparingly. I did not want a diet, I wanted to get healthier, lose weight, and stay healthier...that means I will need to eat this way for the rest of my life. If I set-up crazy rules and regulations it would never work.

What are popchips? Don't think we get them in the uk. So I went to the shop for milk and came back with milk AND a killer migraine. You know the kind where you think your head is going to explode and your going to vomit and your hot but shivering? After some painkillers and laying down for a good 2 hours I felt able to get up and get a drink and some salted peanuts. I now feel a whole lot more human a good 4 hours After onset. I'm thinking it wasn't crisps I wanted it was my body telling me I needed salt! Bad thing is I had a nap and now I can't get back to sleep even though its 00:10. Oh we'll at least I'm not dry heaving into my bin anymore eh?

So if we have cravings can it be our bodies telling us it NEEDS something like salt or potassium (I once craved bananas) or whatever it's missing?

Edited to add, no food is off limits but I'm trying to be low gi as far as possible with a calorie allowance of 1400 and I had planned a nice fruit salad with the rest of my allowance.

Not sure if they have them in the UK or not. I bought mine at amazon. You can learn about them at www.popchips.com. My teenage son liked to have Lays and I found these and thought he could still have the crunch and saltiness of a chip but that these would be a bit healthier.

I am sorry you do not feel good. Hopefully you are able to get to bed and wake feeling 100% better.

Thank you for the info!
Hmmm they don't seem very low gi friendly but maybe once a month or so as a 'treat'.
Apparently I can get them in boots pharmacy so will have a look next time I'm in. lays are called walkers over here if memory serves from my trips to the states and I LOVE a sandwich with their s&v.
Crisps are my guilty pleasure, I used to have a pack of mccoys everyday at work to get me through the morning.

Oh Amy, I love me a fruit salad! I go for just about any fruit but stone fruits are best for me with the low gi thing (cherries, nectarines, plums, apricots are my faves) and strawberries! I love strawberries. Is there a way to put pictures? Ill show you my food porn!

Salt and Vinegar chips amg literally my FAVORITE chips of all time. I haven't had a single one since I started dieting 4 months ago. Can't have them in the house or I won't stop til I get to the bottom of the bag. I dip them in sour cream >< lol, awful I know! Just wanted to reply to sympathize with your craving.

Just wondering, could you have some pickles next time you crave something salty and crunchy?
