Help!!!!!

  • STARVING FOR FAME.......
Hi, My name is Kristen. Im a youtube comedian, actress, and film maker. and I'm really good at it. People really like my videos, and I have been getting a lot of recognition rather quickly. The only thing is the one comment I get on my videos a lot is, "your fat" so for the past few weeks iv been eating super healthy, taking laxatives, and forcing myself to throw up if I eat anything unhealthy. But iv only lost 5 pounds. I feel if I don't become skinny, and beautiful like so many other youtubers, I wont make it big, and others wont want to work with me. What do ya'll think?
  • Hello Kristen!

I definitely understand the need to feel skinny *right now*...especially when you have the added pressure of fans, commentors, bloggers, etc. saying that you are "too fat", it can cause a lot of stress to do drastic things because you want to see immediate results. That being said, you are doing some dangerous things, and I suggest seeing a doctor/dietician to help you.

Throwing up everything you eat is the sign of an eating disorder, as is taking laxatives (only use laxatives when medically necessary). Both of those are very harmful habits that can cause serious medical conditions later (and not-so-later...throwing up can cause the acids in your stomach to eat away at your esophagus) in life.

Your true fans will love you no matter what you look like! There are many comedians/youtubers out there who are not super gorgeous, and they are still just as funny as some that are. One thing you may want to consider is documenting your weight loss through your youtube videos...perhaps talk about some of the healthy meals you make for yourself, your exercise, maybe weigh-in every week for your fans to see. Not only will this bring in viewers, it will make your fans feel closer to you while sharing such an intimate journey. They can help motivate you, and encourage you when you need it. (on the flip side, youtube commentors can sometimes be downright cruel, so only you can make the choice if you want to take that risk)

Remember, your weight didn't pile on overnight, you're not going to lose it overnight. Eat healthy and exercise, and you WILL see the weight come off!

Again, I can't stress enough that you really should see a doctor first before making any choices. A lot of times they can help recommend a safe and healthy diet plan to help you lose the weight you want without unhealthy and drastic measures.
