Calories or Nutrition?

My breakfast usually is 2 pieces of toasted bread, scrambled egg white, turkey bacon, a bit of cheddar and jam (made into a sandwich)

i'm in maintenance but obviously still like to watch calories but nutritional value is very important to me so.....just wondering what you all would do?

Sara Lee bread is what i usually use at 45 calories a slice
but Dave's whole grain light is much more nutritionally dense and 60 calories a slice

i'm more inclined to go with nutrition but sometimes i like to save on those 30 little pesky calories:dizzy:

I'm also in maintenance, and I don't sweat those little nuances. My favourite bakery makes a "higher fiber" white bread and a denser, more nutritious bread bread called capeseed. I usually buy both and switch them up as mood dictates.

I eat what. I like & track the calories. I never waste calories these days on anything that hurts my health or on anything I don't like. I have done that in the past but now those two goals are my guide. I definitely wouldn't worry about 30 calories, just track the item.

I was told too not to worry about 30 calories here and there (I get very obsessive about details and it's stressful for me!). I think for me, if I was in your position, the extra 30 calories would be offset in my brain knowing mentally that it's a denser more filling bread so it would be a good tradeoff. :)

Congrats on your weightloss, I'm always inspired when I see your ticker and pictures on other threads.

For me, if the difference is just 15 calories, then I'd pick mainly based on taste, but also to a lesser extent texture and how filling it was. If I rated them about the same, then I'd pick the more nutritionally-dense version.

If I lived near Dave's, all I would eat is Dave's bread! For 30 calories, enjoy his tasty wonderful fantastic nutritious bread!

Before baby I was almost at goal. I tried to make every meal count as much as I could nutrition wise (not so much now:o )
But I made a point of haveing a veggie with each meal. I would either mix in a veggie with my eggs, like spinach or grren and red peppers (my favorite was egg white, spinch and feta cheese omlet) Or I used to make "hashbrowns" but instead of cut up potato, I cut up zuccinni and used that in place of the potato. I used non stick pray, and adding chopped onion and red / green pepper and all the seasonings that I would add to breakfast potato mix.
I've also made omlets with asparagus, which some people really like, I can take it or leave it. Depends on your taste.

I just always felt that the added veggies with breakfast increased my nutritional intake with out greatly increasing my cals. :)

Yes sometimes i toss the bread and SF jam and just put spinach and mushrooms into the egg and cheese and turkey bacon :D
