So.. what would you do at this point?

I had a very good day today. I went shopping and tried on a bathing suit and discovered as I went to check out & buy my new bathing suit, what I thought was a size 8 was actually a 6!! I also tried on a pair of shorts and had to go down a size, same thing with the shirt and dress I bought.

I'm in 6s and 8s and smalls and mediums, and leaning towards the 6/small side of life. 9s and 11s in juniors' to coincide with that. I'm where I want to be clothing wise, and honestly, I don't really want to get any smaller as far as clothes are concerned because well, there really isn't that much left after a small! And I have no desire to get into 4s and 2s and 0s. I just don't. I like my size. I know I put my goal at 145, and I figure I probably might even get there after trial and error with maintenance. But as far as size is concerned, I'm HAPPY. I don't care if I can't wear a bikini; I like the way one pieces look on my body better, and my thighs probably could use some tightening up but it's nothing I'm wanting to hide or anything. It's nothing I've ever really fretted over. I'm not striving for perfection; I'm striving for being healthy and being happy with myself the way I am. I'm pretty much there as far as my body is concerned -- everything else is not something weight loss can take care of.

So... would you call it goal? Do those 5 stupid little pounds really make that much of a difference? And I want to keep lifting but I don't want it to really make me smaller... I just wanna stay put. If I focused on strength instead of fat loss, would that help me maintain my goal?

I'm really excited about what happened today. I fit into a size 6 bathing suit! I'm pretty sure it was the smallest size they had. That's so EXCITING! YAY!

Congratulation!! You must feel great!

I would call it goal because i was at goal for awhile but what kept me from calling it is the "spare" tire of loose skin around my belly which pretty much isn't going away and everything else is within a normal weight so i would and also keep your FITNESS goals always in front of you, there's always some room for improvement even if you're at the size you want.

Enjoy! :)

I would call it a goal if you are comfortable with the way you look and your size.

You have done an awesome job!:D

Success is not about the size of your Tag but where you truly feel comfortable weight wise:carrot:

Be Proud of Yourself Girl and Call Goal:D

So Happy For You ,Roo2:carrot::carrot::carrot:

This is amazing! If you wanna call it, CALL IT! Nobody could say you 'gave up'! I am so freakin' stoked for you! GO POST IN THE GOAL SECTION! WOOO!!

If you're happy then call it goal.

If circumstances change later on you can always go back into a deficit and lose the extra five ponds.

Congratulations on all you've lost. :)

wannaskipandlaugh 04-19-2013 06:15 PM

:congrat: to you.... If you are happy with yourself... then you are at goal. I think you are awesome and what a job you have done. Good going and strengthening can only help with keeping muscles toned and body tight so that the skin does not flab out. Oh so happy for you!

I'd call it goal if you like how you look. The weight is really arbitrary, when it is health and an aesthetic you're looking to achieve.

dstalksalot 04-19-2013 06:54 PM

If you like how you look and feel now you just need to figure out how to keep what you've got. That's the hard part apparently. Increase the calories a bit at a time to make sure you are not losing at your current activity level. Congratulations!

I am close to you in that I am a similar height and weight but I am not done. I still have fat and am in 10's still. Although I want to stay the same weight, I think I need to go down another 5-10 pounds to lose some size and fat. ( Thinking a red line weight of 145 and some weight training.)

Good luck to you.

If you feel that you are "there" - then yes- you've hit your goal! congrats.

flashfacts 04-19-2013 08:15 PM

Congrats! Hope you don't mind if I'm a little envious, since I'm about to drop my goal weight 3-5 pounds :D

Seriously though, if you feel its time, then its time. That feeling of comfort in your body that comes across in your post is worth a million scales reading some "right" number.
