Default Excited out of my mind!! AWESOME, Colorado.

So while I was perusing online for pictures to congratulate someone on breaking through their plateau last night- I stumbled across a news article about a program called Weigh and Win. It's a program in Colorado funded by Kasier Permanente....and wait for it....

They give you FREE MONEY for losing weight!!

Obviously I HAD to check this out. So I went to my public library after work to check out the kiosk.

(Yes, that's me at the kiosk. Hello 3FC!)

The weigh-in kiosk was in a relatively private area behind that banner there. You login- step on the scale which is about 16 feet from the kiosk- it snaps a picture....and you're done.

And you are probably wondering...but Lunar, what about the money! How much money are we talking about?!
Well- quite a bit, I think! I wish I knew about this 2 months ago! I would have already earned $45!

You can also weigh-in weekly, write weekly journal entries, take a weekly quiz, login to the site daily, and do other activities to earn health points. 300 health points and I get entered in to win a $50 Macy's gift card.

Does anyone else think this is AMAZING?! I was absolutely floored when I heard of the program. And I don't even have to be a Kaiser member!

Moreover- is there anyone in Colorado that might be interested in doing a team challenge? If there is anyone in Colorado motivated enough to absolutely dominate a team challenge- I think it would be us. 3FC members have SOOOO much support and encouragement!

The prizes for this quarter's challenge are as follows:
Prizes for the Weight Improvement Challenge
1st: Colorado State Parks Annual Pass ($70 value) - enjoy the great outdoors all year long! www.parks.state.co.us
2nd: FitBit Zip ($60 value) - track your steps, distance, calories burned, set goals and challenge friends! www.fitbit.com
3rd: Door to Door Organics Bitty Produce Box ($25 value) - get a box of healthy fruits and vegetables delivered to your door! www.doortodoororganics.com

Prizes for HEALTHpoints Team Challenge
1st: $25 gift certificate to Amazon
2nd: $20 gift certificate to REI
3rd: $15 gift certificate to iTunes

That is a really awesome idea. I wish more states would do incentives like that or had companies that interested in helping people lose weight!

Grats Lunar, keep us posted

There is no such thing as free money, lol, but if the Healthcare companies want to fund that...it is an awesome incentive.

It's cheaper for them to give people money for weight loss than it is to pay for the blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds, heart meds, etc. They'll make more than than they'll lose if people take off the weight and KEEP it off.

Isn't that the truth?! They also give you money for maintaining your weight loss for a year. But I was something better then money after I get my weight off. I want a baby.

It was so easy! I will admit I hate having my picture taken and so it was hard to look at when I got home. I will look at it to help motivate me Thanks again for sharing the information.
