I'm going to a friend's baby shower tomorrow. During past weight loss attempts I would have barely eaten anything beforehand and then eaten 10 of everything at the shower. The shower is at 1pm tomorrow, so I'm going to eat breakfast and lunch normally and then enjoy myself within reason
I'm not even going to pretend that I would be successful just taking a tiny nibble of everything. The bride is fit and health conscious, so I imagine there will be a variety of fruits and veggies in addition to treats. If I don't go in starving I think I can do a smarter job of indulging without going overboard.
This is how I want to be able to live. To not have to worry that one special event is going to totally derail me. No one ever got fat from eating food at one baby shower. It's the past attitude of "Oh well, I'm sure I already went over for my calories today so I might as well just order pizza for dinner and eat 4 slices" that has taken me down this path.
