I'm always going to have me some thighs but they really trimmed down when I was distance running before. I did months of elliptical/bike and it didn't really change my thighs. This time around I'm doing a lot more different exercises (especially ones that target the legs/butt) and going more for speed running than distance but it's till a little too soon for me to tell, compared to last time, how it's working the thighs.
I'm never really bothered by what size I am BUT i like shorts and I have to work my thighs if I can wear them or else they get ate, and are just uncomfortable. Last time I lost, shorts were still uncomfortable at 150 but after regular long running (no weight loss, stayed at 150) shorts fit just fine.
