Default Upset stomach and diet?

Hey guys! Hope your days are going great

I changed my diet to be low cal and low carb (I still do some pita and brown rice and a potato or two )

but I've been noticing that my stomach has been acting up. As soon as I eat anything, and I mean as soon as I finished a meal or a snack, I immediately need to use the restroom in an absolute rush.

Is my body just used to all the fillers and crap I used to stuff it with and all the fresh food is a shock? Maybe it's the 8-12 cups of water or plain tea?

Has this happened to anyone else?

If you're going low carb, ditch the potato and bread products. Those will thwart your progress big time on that way of eating. You'll likely see more success following a specific plan than general low carb (Atkins, nutritional Ketosis, South Beach, Stillman's, Dr. Bernstein, Eat Fat Lose Fat, etc).

As for your stomach acting up, without hearing more details on your menu and health history, it's really hard to say. Could be a stomach bug, food intolerance, gall bladder issue, you name it.

That said, I've noticed my own low carb eating does indeed get things moving. Lots of fat and plenty of fiber equals frequent and easy bathroom visits. If I eat too much coconut oil, that becomes a little more urgent

I think it's all the increased fats and veggies. Before, I considered ketchup a vegetable.

To be sure, though, I made an appt with a GI dr.

Checking with GI sounds like a good idea... But it sounds like the increase in veggies and the increase in fiber that comes along with it might be what's going on... And hopefully your body will adjust...

For me... Doing my best to incorporate more fiber in my diet has really helped me with satiety and maintaining...
