[Elladorine]

Here's my seventh bead, for pounds 300 through 290:



This one makes me think of the snow back home. It was part of a set I picked up at Walmart.

And my eighth bead, for pounds 290 to 280:



This one symbolizes being "lucky" with my new life in Vegas! And coincidentally, when I first moved to Vegas I weighed 285. Both pieces were separates I picked up at Walmart.

Here is how the bracelet currently looks:



As-is, there are 12 pieces, one for each of the ten pound sets I've currently lost. Four of them are just filler beads for now though and have no special meaning, so they cover pounds 280-240 (I'm currently at 233 so I can add a 13th bead once I lose 3 more pounds). They'll eventually be replaced with specific-meaning, non-dangling beads so the hanging charms will be spaced out. The total number of beads will stay at 12 regardless until I've fully earned the next ten pound set.

I still need to lose about 80 pounds so I should have just about enough room on the bracelet. I'll update as I replace the "meaningless" spacers and as I add newly-earned beads.

239-229 a compass to guide me in the right direction
229-219 a pretty red dress for the clothes I'll be able to wear one day

I have a charm bracelet, too. I got most of the charms at the craft stores. There really are a lot of inspiring charms to choose from and I try to pick ones that "speak" to me. I have some that say things like believe, peace, keep calm and carry on, etc. I also have a rainbow, a butterfly, a peace sign and a chuck taylor type converse shoe. I already bought most of mine and they stay in a little clear jewel case on my dresser until I actually earn them and add them to my bracelet.

That's awesome. I've seen several of yours at one of the stores and have thought about them, especially the crystal ball, the infinity symbol, and the compass. I was also thinking about the red dress (because it's a lot cheaper than the black dress one I've seen online).

I've seen a charm that says "believe" that I've been thinking about getting. And I really like the idea of keeping them in a clear case until they're earned! It's so much fun to browse and see which ones speak to you, isn't it?

Sadly enough, I had to be in a huge rush earlier today when I went to my TOPS meeting. I had all these great plans to show off my bracelet and share the idea, but I have family in town and had to cut the meeting off. I still had to swing by and drop off some material, so I got in my weigh-in at least.

Anyway, I got totally distracted when I had a small dispute with the weight recorder (grr!), and I ended up leaving my bracelet behind (it's too heavy to weigh with and I had set it on a shelf)! I called around and got one of the other members to safely hold it for me, but I won't get it back for another 2 weeks, when we have our next meeting.

Heh, that's what I get for being rushed and annoyed.

My ninth bead, for pounds 280 to 270:



I put together a padlock bead with a set of tiny keys, because I've found the key to unlocking a healthier me!

The tenth bead, for pounds 270-260:



This one represents the day planner I track all of my meals and other health-related events in, which has been an extremely important part of my success. And it's totally appropriate for the pounds it represents since I was at 267 when I started it in March. True story.

The eleventh bead, for pounds 260-250:



This represents the octopus contest I won at TOPS. We were each given a yarn creature to decorate as part of the contest (we had to track our eating as part of it) and she's been my little mascot. I was kinda excited when I found the octopus charm to match her! Here's a photo of the actual octopus and my day planner/food and health journal:



I made her cape and top hat.

The twelfth bead, for pounds 250-240:



I forgot to take a photo of it by itself but it's the one with the aqua-colored rhinestones. I picked that one since it matches an old favorite tee that was my "official weigh-in shirt" until a smaller size began to fit me better.

And for the thirteenth bead, for pounds 240-230, I finally earned it a few weeks ago (I'm currently at 227)! I've got something specific in mind but have yet to pick up as I'm hoping it goes on sale soon. Once I get it, I'll be all caught up until I reach 220 pounds and earn my fourteenth one.
