My fun experiment!

I don't know if anyone else has done this, but I used to think that it would be so wonderful if I could just FEEL how good I would feel if I lost weight. I have been heavy for so long that if I could only feel how it would feel, I might actually BELIEVE that I could do it. Well, that never happened, but after a year of work, I've lost a bunch of my extra weight. It's still not real to me sometimes, though I feel better and look better, I still feel like a slob sometimes. My head hasn't caught up, I guess.

Well, my 10 year old jumped on the scale today and was remarking that she is 90 pounds. I've lost just under 100! So, we were playing around this evening and I grabbed her hands over my shoulders and pulled her up onto my back and was carrying her around the living room. It was insane that I used to carry more than her weight around all day! I honestly don't know how my poor feet took it! It was like the part on the Biggest Loser where they make them strap all their lost weight back on themselves and run! Thank god I didn't have to do that....my knees would probably explode!:D It was really cool to set her down and have that moment when I knew, no matter what my heads tells me, that I've made a huge change in myself! What an awesome feeling!

Aw that sounds great! Must have really hit home how much you've lost and how far you've come.

Congrats! Isn't that a crazy feeling? I had something similar just the other day-I was carrying my 16lb baby around in a carrier while out and about. After 2 hours or so my knees and feet were feeling so sore! And I was amazed-my baby is only 16lbs-and I've lost 31! How did I function?

Wow, what a great experience--such a solid way of understanding the progress you've made.

Great idea! I think about that all the time when I'm carrying around my 31lb toddler. I used to pack more than that around *all the time*!
Also, congrats on your 100 pound weight loss! Keep up the good work!

That's a really neat idea way of reminding yourself how much you've accomplished!
Not as cool, but I will most definitely be keeping around my big old clothes, to remind myself I never want to fit into them again.

I love those days when you realize, realllllly realize how big of an accomplishment you have really accomplished. Good for you! And yes, it's much easier to move around without all that weight - for sure!

Awesome idea! 90 pounds is a LOT off your back

That's awesome !! My son is about 41 lbs (he's only 3 1/2 lol), but it's quite amazing that in just another 5 lbs, I would have lost a 3 and 1/2 year old lol.

Congrats !

Congrats! Thinking about it now I've lost just over my 2.5 year old niece. I carry her sometimes and she's definitely getting too heavy to be carried so it's weird to think that I used to be constantly "carrying" her with me!

Congratulations, it is great when you have a moment of really feeling what you've accomplished!
