Default First day back on the bike...

So I was out today on my bicycle for the first time in a couple months. Went for a 3 mile ride. Along the way, I rode on the white line so my tire didn't get pulled into the gravel on the side of the road (I live in the country). Just as a car was coming at me, my tire hit the gravel, causing me to fall out into the middle of the lane. Luckily the driver was paying attention and had already started to swerve to avoid me. I wish I could take a side road to get to my biking area but I live in a dead-end subdivision off the main road. I hurried up to get off the main road and onto the dirt road where I usually ride my bike.
When I tried to take up biking earlier this spring, I had no problems with oncoming cars (and their idiot teenage drivers) and actually began to enjoy my rides. After only a week of biking daily I could easily ride for 5 miles. So wouldn't you know today would be the day that some person would decide to shout out their window at me on my way home. Going down the road, I saw a red car out of the corner of my eye, and some blonde b**** leaning out the window yelling "weeee!!!" What, is that supposed to be a pig's squeal? I don't care, because I know this biking is going to be the only way for me to enjoy exercising. I'm not worried about the people so much as my safety. In the fall I'll (hopefully) be moving back to the city so will be able to ride up and down the sidewalks.

I know this has probably been discussed many times before, but has anyone else ever had problems with idiot onlookers and their comments during workouts? I don't want to let this get in the way of my motivation to lose weight.

Speaking of motivation...I was looking at the Goal Photo Albums, and WOW!! I will look back at your posts and pictures any time I feel like giving up. You guys are amazing

First of all, the lady may not have been mocking you at all -- "weeee" could mean many things like "weeee, have fun on your bike ride" or "weeee" I'm having fun in my sports car, etc.

So, I would just let that pass and continue on your bike-riding which you enjoy; and don't let anyone or anything stop you either.
