As I read through various threads in the forum here, I notice in the tickers a lot you have made amazing progress in your weight loss. I wish in addition to your starting weight, it also included the start date of your journey. That would be great for newbies like myself to help keep things in prespective. So tell me, how long did it take you to get to your current weight?
I'll start. I started my diet/exercise program on 5/20/2012. So in about 3.5 weeks and I've lost 7lbs.
I started 01/25/11 at 226lbs and ended with approx. 40lb loss at 185lbs 06/01/11.
I fell off the wagon after I moved to another state but I mostly maintained for almost a year until recently, I got up to 190lbs. Panic set in me and finally re-sparked the motivation to start losing again.
I cannot remember my restart date, it was probably at the end of April, beginning of May 2012 but I have lost 8lbs since then. My rate is somewhat slow now since I am unable to work out currently.
I started in August 2009. It took me two years to lose the first 100 pounds. It's taken me almost a full year to lose the next 20 pounds. I'm not done with active weight loss yet, but I'm very close - I sort of feel I have begun the transition to maintenance.
Keep up the good work - don't worry about how long it will take. Consistency is what matters - just stick with your plan. If you slip up, just dust yourself off, put it behind you, and get right back on track. You don't need 100% perfection to get where you want to be. You just need to be a little patience - the time will pass anyhow, so you might as well spend it losing weight - and not let slip-ups derail you completely.
I went from 156-158 in March 2010 to 123.5 Christmas 2010. I went home for 2 weeks and regained 5 lbs in the summer there.
From Christmas 2010 I yo-yo-ed and gained about 10 lbs as of July 31, 2011. From then to January 2012 I was sort of unhappily around 134-138. Then I buckled down and reduced calories, got to 130, amped up workouts, now am 126-128.
Very slow i've been on Weight Watchers since end of Feb and only down 12 lbs. I agree, I see alot of huge losses in small amounts of time and wonder why not me!!!
Since the 22nd of February.. I didn't do anything drastic at all then, just started a food journal and stopped eating dessert every day ha, made a big difference! I only know the date because I wrote down my measurements then.
Took me 10 months to lose 60 lbs. I have yo yoed around there and kept telling myself I wanted to lose 10 more but did not give it my all. I have hopped back on plan and am actively working to lose those additional pounds. Hoping by the end of August I will be at my new lower goal.
