Trying to loose weight with MRC but no cash, need a buddy to do it with me

  • Hi,
Just went to my MRC consultation last week. They told me for the 17wk program it would be 399 plus like another 200$ for supplments and drinks. I can not afford that working part time lol. I need to loose the weight though because of my muscular dystrophy i have to much weight on my legs and it dangerous. I have the pre conditionioning menu, i'm looking for someone to be my buddy in the program, share menus and help me reach my goal weight. I dont have much support at home living with 3 guys, thats why i found this site.

    Thank YOu
  • There is no reason to spend any money on shakes and supplements.

Calories dictate fat loss or gain. Educate yourself for two reasons -

    1) You'll save money.

    2) You'll be less likely to regain weight.

  • There is TONS of support here! Evaluate your lifestyle, your likes and dislikes, and how certain foods make your body feel... and build your own plan from there!

If you construct the plan, you have MUCH more of a chance at success. Become an expert on your own health and get reinforcement, advice, and support here!
  • thanks
i understand, i just need some direction, i need help. I've tried to do this by myself many times before and failed. I need a partner in crime so to speak
  • Well, I guess you have to do a bit of searching and experimenting to see what works. My thought would be to start by increasing activity as much as you physical condition allows, and cutting the typically unhealthy stuff out of your diet as much as possible. Cut sugar, white carbs, fats, and junk food to a minimum. Load up on veggies, lean protein, salads, and fruit. Try to stay under 1500 calories. Read up on diet programs and see what might work for your tastes and your life style.

And - Good Luck! You'll find lots of support in here.

  • Sk8-- there is an MRC forum where you could find someone to be your buddy, and help you out with the menu plans, etc. HOWEVER, the program does require some supplements as integral to the plan.. basically like protein drinks... 3 or 4 a day, so if you cant afford that.....

anyway, there are alot of people over there going at it without the centers, so check it out, under "diet Central"
