Yes they do make unsalted. Are you watching the intake too? Making sure it doesn't push you way over your calories for the day? (may be a dumb question, sorry if it is!)
When I saw pretzels I automatically thought about greasy, heavily salted doughy pretzels like you get at the mall or a fair with mustard or cheese. I'm glad you're not eating those, but now I want to! LoL.
Yes, I do know they make unsalted pretzels, but I doubt they taste as good, so you may feel disappointing. I would just completely cut off pretzels from my diet, I think they have lots of carbs. Have you considered replacing them with something a bit more light, some sort of seeds (I really like pumpkin seeds, they make a great snack).
when it comes to prezels.....Watch the calorie count and those CARBS! 1oz. of petzels for some brands (8 pretzels) can pack as much as 110 calories and 22 carbs. Pretzels are definately a FAT friendly snack, but I personally can seriously eat 5-6oz. (500-600 calories..100-120carbs) in one sitting. As much as I LOVE PRETZELS...I "try" to stay clear of them unless it's a snack size bag. Sodium is a factor in weight loss due to the fact that it makes you retain water--causing weight gain. I LOVE salty snacks so much! BUT it throws me off on the scale EVERYtime due to water retention!
I've never been concerned about salt in previous weight loss attempts. I'd eat things like heavily-salted flavored rice crackers, frozen meals with a high sodium content, and stir-frys full of soy sauce. I never considered that it could hinder my weight loss and make me retain water, but being here has taught me to think twice about the sodium content of food.
Tbh, I'd avoid salted pretzels, simply because I'd panic about gaining a pound or two of water weight. But perhaps just limit your intake of them or buy the unsalted (which don't sound half as delish). Good luck!
I used to eat unsalted mini pretzels and loved them. It's been a few years since I've had any but I think they were made by either Hanover or Synder's.
