Good Morning, Everyone!

I knew the sodium from the Mexican food would get me.

I am really curious as to why my weight hasn't even attempted to drop back down. I know I have been battling the food allergy, last month I had the almost 2 week TTOM, and now the stress/lack of sleep. But, I would think something would give. I have also been lifting weights more and using heavier weights. Women don't gain muscle quickly, so that's not the issue. (There are a lot of misconceptions about women and weight lifting and of course everyone is different. It have read multiple studies that say it can take a woman almost a year of heavy lifting to gain 1-2 pounds of muscle. I'm sticking with this train of thought for now.) I am going to give it until the first of the month and then analyze things again.

Calories for yesterday: 1880 +
Weigh In: 149.4
Up: 1.4

Good Morning!

I'm relatively new here, joined two weeks ago when I started Atkins. I chose Atkins because I have a terrible time with sugar and most carbs.

I am proud two report that I lost another pound, so I am down total 7 lbs in 2 weeks. Not bad for a 53.5 yo lady.

I am focusing on staying on plan, drinking water, and walking. Basically staying clean each week. That's how I am measuring my success each week.

Good Morning Everyone,
I've been MIA for a couple of days. I swear that therapist did some major damage. I ate 2000cals one day and it was mindless eating too. I'm amazed I haven't gained, but I haven't lost either. Now my calves are seized up so I'm walking like a dork. DD made fun of me all day yesterday and DS walked goofy, I think he was supporting me He was super up yesterday, dancing like a maniac everywhere. I liked to see him happy, it's rare Today looks nice maybe I'll go for a walk and hope these dumb calves release...geez, they are tightly knotted. My forearms hurt as well, so it's just one of those episodes. This too shall pass!

Underthemoon

Serenity I am a low carber as well.

Diana I can only say, I know your frustration. My scale hasn't moved since Monday...so depressing. But, on the brighter side, it didn't go up again like last week Hope you see a loss soon.

Mamakat Sorry about the therapist messing with things. You know what's best. Anytime I get sore, it will be in my hamstrings. They will make you walk funny, too. I hope you can get that walk in. Have a great day!

Hello everyone

My goals for the week are to make healthier choices and stay on plan. I'm eating 1,600 calories 5 days a week and 1,400 on two days. The days I workout will be the days I eat 1,600. I'm hoping to lose these 6 pounds in two weeks so I can be in ONEDERLAND!!

Welcomes to the new folk! mamakat

I'm up another 1.4, but as long as I don't gain 6 today, I won't have undone everything. As of today, DF and I have been together for three years and I have been a non-smoker for four months.

Hello to the new members!!

I survived the 5K yesterday. It was a lot of fun. I met an older gentleman on a scooter and we spent the whole walk talking. He is a former Marine and Army soldier, has survived 7 heart attacks, 5 strokes, has 9 stints in his heart, and a handfull of other surgeries. He has two books out that were published last month and he was an extra in the movie "We Were Soldiers." He definitely made the walk go by pretty fast. Afterwards, there was a chili cookoff. Chili is one of my favorites and I'm kind of a snooty judge. I did find a few that were pretty darn tasty. I splurged and had two cookies. I figured I had just walked over 3 miles and it has been a couple of months since I've had a cookie. I still lost a pound so I'll take it!

mamakat~At least your kids are providing some comic relief for you. Just remember to laugh with them and you'll feel a lot better! That just proves you are a great mom.

Hello I'm kinda new here too. Yesterday when I got up I weighed and I had lost 1.8lbs This morning I weighed and I had gained back .8lbs. I'm counting calories and working out. I counted everything yesterday and didn't go over my limit plus I worked out an extra 20 mins from what I've been doing and I STILL GAINED...ugh...so I guess the goal for today is focus on sodium?! Any suggestions?!

Welcome, Katie! I wouldn't worry too much about the gain. When you weigh every day like that, there are bound to be fluctuations. As long as the trend remains a downward one, those tiny gains don't matter. As for sodium, I watch my intake, too. I always see a gain when I eat salty, processed things.

Thanks! When Diana said something about mexican food it triggered that I too had mexican food yesterday and tada weight gain. Why can't weight lose be easy?! I just got a scale yesterday, and I knew this would happen, but I've become obsessed with weighing myself. I do this every time. I weigh, see that I've gained, and want to give up or I get mad at myself...

I weigh everyday because I find that it helps me make better choices, but it doesn't work for everyone. If weighing everyday makes it harder for you to stay on plan, try weighing once a week.

Hi Everyone! This week is going to be busy with my Mom's appointments. You can just ignore me since I probably won't have time to post back. I will read about all of your progress, though. Wishing everyone a healthy and on plan week! Make it a great one for yourself.

KatieAlyse Hi and Welcome to the check-in! It very well could be the Mexican food for you. I tend to be very sensitive to sodium. It just takes a little time for it to pass. I still like weighing every day though. It keeps me accountable and like shishkeberry said helps me make better decisions. Good luck with your weigh loss goals. We look forward to watching your progress.
