You know the day isn't going to be a good one when you start it out vomiting. I thinking about counting that as exercise, because my abs got a great workout. Poor DH was calling through the door, 'should we take you to the hospital now?' I feel bad for him. But I'm determined to not go, I will get through this. It is day 6 and still no relief in sight and I have fiber powder, probiotics (all week) and am now taking dulcelax (however you spell that).

I must have been worn out from doing nothing yesterday because my internal clock did not wake me up and we had not set alarms due to migraine. We woke up at the time we should be taxi ing the kids to school. Well they've both had great track records for not being late, one day won't kill them, I haven't been able to move fast enough to drive them in for two days now.

Diana it takes the body two weeks to clean itself from gluten, it can take the effects longer. But of course, not everyone gets the same thing, just like allergies. I can't say how long for myself because all these symptoms I had with other conditions in the past. Now those conditions are being treated, I know for a fact that its the gluten doing it. Gluten can even cause anxiety and you know me, I'm anxious so we were trying to see if that too was from gluten, alas I'm anxious gal no matter I have always had migraines but my specialist had gone through all the triggers with me and still I was getting them. Ha, never even thought of gluten. Since going clean, I've had them less and not as strong. In fact, that's why I tossed my Imetrex. So I know all the stuff I'm going through is the gluten.

The sad part is I've yet to stop eating the gluten. I've been eating low carb tortillas for the past two nights. They may be low in carb but they still have wheat...ugh, I don't learn. SO once out of the bathroom this morning, I told DH no more tortillas or pitas for me. He said I should go see his doctor, what for? So she can tell me "you have to go to the potty, that's all. Give it time." That's not money well spent or time, I'll just wait it out. Now that the vomiting has passed, I think I'll be okay

Sorry for not doing personals, I'll try a little bit later. Have a wonderful and healthy day everyone!

Mamakat ACK! I can't deal with being sick like that. My heart goes out to you. Get rid of those gluten tortillas, NOW! I know it's easy for me to say. Have you tried any of the gluten free breads? I have seen a variety of gluten free products recently. Before we went out of town I heard about a product for people with food allergies. I did some reading on it. It seems to be really good for people who can't find out what they are allergic to. You take this pill 15 minutes prior to eating. I tried it a couple of times but I was in the midst of having an allergic reaction, so I quit with it. I am always scared that something is going to make me worse or I am going to be allergic to it. Here's the product:
http://www.swansonvitamins.com/Enzymes/_/n-22yZ3il
another similar product and has great reviews: http://www.iherb.com/Naturally-Vitam...les/16475?at=1
Interview about product: http://www.swansonvitamins.com/healt...upplement.html

I just received a email from Earth Fare about this product line. http://www.glutino.com/our-products/...andwich-bread/

I just had the most amazing breakfast I've had in a long time. Steak-umm, scrambled egg, onions and peppers on whole wheat with an orange. It was so good! A tiny bit calorie pricy at 510, but well worth it. I don't usually eat breakfast but I read recently that most people that smoke don't eat breakfast because smoking affects blood sugar. They are able to go longer without food because of the nicotine releasing the body's own sugar and fats into the blood stream. So I think that explains why I've been hungry for breakfast lately.

I'm so glad that DF and I quit. It's really been wonderful. The dermatitis on my face has cleared up and I no longer smell like an ashtray. My room mate still smokes and I never realized just how bad I used to smell until I quit and I have to smell him coming inside from a cigarette. I feel so bad for all of the nonsmokers that I know. I smelled like that for years! Yuck. I barely miss them anymore and I know I'm never going back. Except for the first week or so this quit has been so easy and I am so thankful for that.

qtkitty - Congrats on the compliments, sure can make a person feel good... even when the other person is a dip and tries to ruin the compliment later, LOL. Great job on the exercise!

Diana - The cravings are getting a bit easier. I did have 2 of the jolly rancher candies to suck on during the day and it seemed to take the edge off, so going to stick with that until over this hump I did not visit the vending machine for a goey Snickers though, so very proud You having TOM seems to answer some of your puzzlement... good in a way Happy Friday!

Ladysheets - Getting a pool membership sounds like it will fit well with you

Mamakat - Goodness! I sure do hope you feel better soon - that sounds like a horrible way to be feeling as of late for you

Italiannie - Congrats on the ticker

Melissa - Great job on the loss

AFM - Made it through yesterday without doing vending machine damage to myself... yay! Then when I got home, did my strength training. Mental note for all: If you are fresh to taking up jogging, do not wear 4" heels to work the next day - super ouch! Then still did weights with the legs and they are cussing me out hard.. but... as my MFP picture says "exercise until your body behaves", so I will be back out at it tonight after work! Cardio night Then I have to get the paint I need to do our big bathroom this weekend - excited to get it going now that bedroom looks so good! Hope everyone has an awesome day!!!

Happy Friday!

Forgot to take my blood pressure pill yesterday. Wow...I sure retain a lot of water when I forget! Stiff and swollen joints repeatedly woke me up. Eating is going well, though I was sooo thirsty yesterday (drank more than 90oz of liquid...must be because of the forgotten pill). Still purging the house. Going to shop today for bookcases to help organize and display what I decide to keep.

Italiannie: Glad you got your ticker! I know I love to see my progress displayed that way!

Diana: I'm seeing more and more gluten-free products at the store. I find it interesting how more and more people are becoming sensitive to it. I wonder if it's just a new awareness or if there is truly an increase...and if so, what causes it. I'm glad there are some alternatives for everyone suffering! Oh, and my DH is just like yours. Insists that 30 y/o textbooks are still relevant and won't get rid of them. <eye roll>

Mamkat: So sorry you're under the weather. Hope you feel better quick. See my comments about gluten above. It must be difficult for all of you!

ilovemo, ladysheets, shiningthrough: Welcome to 3FC!!

qtkitty:
great job on the exercise. So glad you're feeling good! Give your co-worker a break...assume she's just trying to be helpful (but I totally get where you're coming from).

BBB: your food descriptions are making my mouth water!

Larry: Glad to see you have a friendly scale! Congrats!!

Shishk: Congrats on the new low!! woohoo!!!!

Kede: Hope you're having a great day!

It seems like you're finally "ready" to quit for good. I know I hope I never smoke another cigarette, and I've been quit for almost 11 years now. I'm so happy for you and very proud of your efforts and success!!

Thank you, Moondance. Reading what I wrote and what you wrote made me tear up a bit. I'm just so happy! And I'm also happy that I didn't gain 20lb from it. 2011 was a good year for me, all in all. It seems like I'm really starting to turn my life around, health wise. I don't know what was different about last year that led to this but I am very grateful and proud of myself. Maybe it was the thought that I'm not far from 30? I don't know.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes

Diana Before going on the low carb diet, I ate gluten free foods. It took some getting used to, but the bread we got was pretty good. We're finding our local grocery store is cutting out a lot of Atkins products which stinks because they are a staple here at home. But the gluten free stuff seems to be doubling at the store, but a lot of them are high in sugar. I used to live off the Chex gluten free cereal I miss cereal

Moondance Like I was telling Diana a lot of times the reaction to gluten intolerance can be mistaken for other conditions. Like since I have MD (very mild) pain is common. Because I'm BipolarII depression and anxiety are common. I've always had migraines which can be a number of things , a bad thyroid (I have Hoshimoto's Disease) can cause a lot of these symptoms too, plus weight gain. I can't tell you how many times I've been tested for Lyme disease and RA because of the swelling and pain in my muscles. Everything is trial and error and so many stinking test. It wasn't until last year when I was bleeding to death slowly that two doctors knocked heads together...finally, it only took 40 years So now that everything is being treated properly when I have "flair ups" of anyone thing, we go over how faithful I've been with treatments and food. And this time I know it was food. So I think a lot of people get misdiagnosed with other things because Celiac's isn't that easy to pinpoint. And if you're an addict like me, it's hard to say no, even when you know it hurts afterwards (I'd bang my head here, but it hurts enough )

ItsMyTurn great advice on the heels after running, but you still are amazing when I think how you go for break walks in those things. DS and I were looking for winter boots (semi fashionable) for me and there were so many cute heels. I really wish I could wear them. I envy you Great job on working out even when there's hardly any spare time. Do you plan to run with your DS again anytime soon?

shish your breakfast sounded wonderful. How fantastic that you are smoke free, I'm proud of you. Keep up the great work.

Berry I am staying hydrated. Today is the first time I've drank my sf punch in over a month. I decided to let my tummy rest from the fizz of diet soda. I also decided to do shakes today, I'm sort of afraid of food right now What are your plans for Sven's b-day? Will it be a big Christmas celebration? Are you cooking?

Italiannie I don't think being excited about your ticker is corny at all. I remember how excited I was. It's a great tool of motivation and support especially when you see the numbers changing. Happy you got yours

welcome to the newcomers, glad to have you.

Thanks again, everyone.

joining in -- just starting -- how does one get a ticker 25 posts? well --22 to go -- of course that's not the point - trying on my own then PureFoods -- reading a lot about Primal more protein -- healthy saturated fats (like medium chain coconut oil and butter) -- no wheat will continue to explore sight. Just waving hello!
