A lot of my bigger clothes went to Goodwill but I had some things that were very nice quality and I had them sitting in 2 bags in the corner of my room. There is a lady at my church who is a single mom and can't afford to buy herself any new clothes. So, I decided to approach her and ask her if she would like to go through the things I was getting rid of. She was grateful for the offer and excited about it.
I brought the clothes to her a week ago and checked in with her this Sunday. In fact, she was wearing some of the clothes that day at church! She is shorter than me and she had the pants cuffed up. I offered to hem the pants since I am a seamstress. Last night I went over to her house and pinned up several pairs of pants and will shorten them and give them back to her this coming Sunday. It was such a good feeling to be able to do this for her and she seems genuinely appreciative.
It was so weird to see my clothes on another person. Also, it gave me a very good visual of how big I used to be. It's funny because when I was at my highest weight I never thought I looked that big...but I'm sure I was. It just reinforces how far I have come in my weight loss journey. Today I feel so hopeful about the future and am looking forward to even more success.
