Default Four Day Binge :(

I feel like I'm sliding down a slippery slope. Can't believe I went so overboard for four whole days.... I was way too scared to get on the scale this morning, I'm going to wait a few days and hopefully lessen the damage done.

I'm back on track today, but feeling a little defeated and a lot disappointed.

If anyone else had a horrible weekend, you're not alone!

Smart thinking not weighing yourself today. Why beat yourself up when you're down, right? I never got why people did that after a binge. For me it would just depress me into another binge.

If I were you, I'd wait until next Monday to weigh in, stay 100% on plan, get in all my days of exercise and drink a lot of water. I'll bet you'll be back to what you weighed 4 days ago. Who knows? Maybe a pound or two less.

Lost my first 25 pounds on my own and the rest (so far) with Jenny Craig

If you hate starting over...STOP giving up!!!

You are definitely not alone! I've had a rough past four days of eating anything in sight and drinking myself stupid! I'm an emotional eater/drinker and had a really bad week and let that take over!!

I'm back on track today and already feel better. Just get back to your routine and you will be fine! Don't let this bring you down. I think we all have our bad days...or 4 or more...

me too
Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God

Does anyone else find it really hard to get back on track the day after several days off plan? It's like my stomach gets used to all that junky food and I literally wake up starving with my stomach growling. Today will be tough. But I have to get through it, and get back in the groove.

Sandcar- yes, I'm the type of person who gets really discouraged seeing a gain on the scale, even when I know WHY there is a gain, so the earliest I'll weigh is friday. I was so excited seeing 157.5 on the scale last friday, and now I'm sure it's back in the 160's.

I'm so glad you're willing to pick yourself up after a fall. It's often too easy to give up after a failure, but it's so encouraging to see someone willing to keep going.

I went away for a few days with my fiancee to Philly. We had a great time. I stayed within my calorie counts but ate a lot of junk (he just HAD to get Philly cheesestakes from some famous places). I did go to the hotel gym and run on the treadmill, and we walked everywhere. I thought I might continue to lose some weight, but I was actually up a pound! I lost it the next day and then lost another pound to get to 156 today, so I wonder if it was just water weight (I didn't drink as much as I usually do), but it was still frustrating!

I didn't 'binge' but I spent the last 5 days at a conference in a city and really enjoyed eating foods that I don't usually get to eat in my small town (sushi! dim sum! tapas! cocktail hour!). I feel pretty out of control and out of discipline. Also I'm sick and don't want to go to the gym.

Let's all pledge to stay completely on track and on plan today. It's time to get back to strengthening our 'NO' muscle!
"Losing weight is easy; I've done it dozens of times."

(with apologies to Mark Twain).

Ultimate goal: Size 10 clothing.

I didn't binge but ended yesterday about 700-800 cals over maintenance, which is overeating for me. I don't feel gross and I was not sick or stuffed after but I have been hungry all morning. I think the increased "hunger" has something to do with the binging causing a spike in blood sugar and then the sudden fall makes you feel ravenous. I've noticed when I am OP the day before, I am not starving in the morning. Anyway, you're not alone. I was on an eating bender for a week, about 4 days of binging, with a day of being OP in between each of those 4 days. Those were not 4 days back-to-back, which might have helped reduce the damage. It took about 5 days of being OP to get rid of the bloat and weight gain, returning me to my pre-binge state. Brush it off and stay on track for the next week and you'll be back to normal.
No more scales! I am taking the scenic route...

I think we all slip up and 4 days is not a long time. You are back on track and that is what counts!

I find it even more of a downer when you just crossed over into a new "decade" of weight and then a binge set you back into that old decade. I too just got into the 150s and then I kept binging and I'd be back in the 160s . Annoying, I know.
Yes I actually called my first few days back on track "detoxing ". I know that sounds corny, lol but I try to eat all whole foods in small meals throughout the day and when I have a few days of eating a lot and it's fried fatty sugary food I start to crave it. And the first few days off of it I am cranky! Weird huh?
Anyway, after a binge I tell myself I have 2 choices, get back on track and eventually start losing, or give up and gain it all back. I always choose the first opinion now.
