Default Do You Weigh More During That Time Of The Month??

I know that each month - during "that time" of the month - I'm going to weigh more. Yet the curiosity of the scale always wins.

I'm a little depressed at seeing the number, but it should go down in a week like it's done for many months now and that's what I keep telling myself.

I'm sure there are other women like me who increase during that time.

Always up during that week AND find myself RAVENOUSLY hungry the week before. Always happens, every month.

I read something very interesting recently. While your hunger (cravings) may increase, what you consume has relatively little to do with the temporary weight gain because the entire process increases your metabolism and the weight gain is directly caused by the changes in the uterine wall and water retention. So, while we see that number on the scale and think it happened because of giving into a food crave, pigging out, etc., it isn't so. Fortunately, after a few days our bodies normalize. Maybe we should stay off the scales for that week

I feel starving, bloated and gain a little the days BEFORE my period, but usually DURING my weight is back to normal. I actually feel kind of 'light' after the first day or so. Strange!

to you--I was actually going to post a little rant about this myself!! It's soooo annoying, especially when I've been staying perfectly OP! Kinda wanted to cry the last few days--hormones and the few extra pounds showing up on the scale when I've been working so very hard. I've just been trying to remind myself that it's false gain and to keep pushing through!!

Im in the same boat, im hoping that the 3 or 4 extra pounds shown on the scale recently is TOM because I have been OP and working so hard! Never weighed in daily so it was a little bit of a shock! Maybe i'll wait till a couple days after to get back on the scale...

The only way I am going to fail is if I give up.

Yes, me too. But I've got the added insecurity of being perimenopausal. So, although I due (a little overdue, in fact, but I took a test just to be certain there wasn't another cause) and up two pounds despite being perfectly OP, I still don't know if TOM will come or not.

Occasionally, but not by much and not consistently. My general pattern includes lots of mini-stalls, where the scale will hover around the same number for 7-10 days and then drop a pound or two, and those don't seem to be related to my cycle. On the other hand, I get PMDD, which is no fun at all. I would far rather have temporary weight gain than menstrual migraine or severe anxiety! I used to get a lot of premenstrual breast swelling and now barely get that at all, so the dieting is evidently reducing how much I bloat before my period.

I'm usually up by around 2 pounds. The day before and the first two days I feel bloated and gross (which is why I keep some clothes around that are a size larger) by the last two days I feel fine and usually that weight goes away as soon as TOM is done.

When do you guys start noticing the water weight coming on?

I only lost 1lb this week, and I normally lose 2lbs, and I'm rather disheartened! TOM due next Tuesday I think, so I want to blame it on TOM... But I worry it's too early and I'm making excuses!
Recommitting for the last time!
