Emotional Eating...Talking it Out Helps

I am having a super rough day at work...I mean really mentally taxing! As the day has gone on I've slowly become more depressed. I am bored eater, and an emotional eater. All I could think about was stopping on the way home and buying a piece of cake.

Luckily a friend in the office asked what was wrong and we talked. I talked about everything that was bothering me and I now feel amazing! I can safely say that I will not be stopping on my way home to buy a piece of cake...it didn't cause my problem, and it wouldn't have fixed it. I probably would have felt like I had let myself down if I had eaten it.

So, for anyone who is just beginning their weight loss journey, or still struggling with emotional eating, talk to a friend before you take the first bite!

So glad you had a friend to help you through that! When I want to eat and I'm sad, I always ask myself, 'Is this snack going to solve the problem? Will it make me feel better for more than one minute after I'm done eating it?' The answers are always no and no.
