OMG - Here is a "Funny" story!!!

Well, I don't know if any of you remember a couple of weeks back I had asked for suggestions on which is the best bathroom scale to buy. Well, I finally bought one. Here is the "funny" part:

The day I decided that I was going to take control of my weight, I joined this forum and hopped on the bathroom scale. I told my husband that I thought our scale was crap and that we needed a new one. He more than likely thought that it was simply because I wasn't happy with the 172lb reading that it gave. For three weeks following, I continued diet and to complain about the scale and showed him your suggested replacements.

Perhaps he was motivated by my slow sucess and decided to weigh himself last Sunday. Well, the scale read that he weighed 195lb, a weight that he has not been at since before we got married. :?: His first words out of his mouth were, "The scale is @!?*ed by 30lb." Hence the new scale!!!

Well, I laughed ... and then got slightly depressed. Originally, I thought that I was 172lb and working well to have gotten down to 162 over this last weekend with only 30 pounds left to lose. Now I know that a month ago, I weighed in at 202lb and I am now 192lb with another 60lb to go.

I'll keep plugging away and I am pretty sure that the old scale didn't lie to me about the 10lb lost as of today. (And if it is, I'm sticking to the "I've lost 10lb story anyways!)

And I'm hoping that I can get my ticker today! Wish me luck.

LOL Jomo. That sounds like something that would happen in my house.

Funny how something isn't very important to replace in the eyes of hubby until he finally tries it and it doesn't work right either. This happened with my air gun while trying to install base moulding. :)

Hey, 10 pounds is 10 pounds. Good start! You'll see the numbers you want if you keep on plugging along!!

You know, you got not a bad deal out of the whole thing. You never had to look at that 200 on the scale! If your old scale had worked: there it would be. If you'd gotten the new scale right away: there it would be. But the way you worked it out, you avoided it all together. :D

10 pounds is still 10 pounds!

Great point! However, for about a month before starting the diet and weighing in, I told my husband that I was surely 200lb or more. (Of course he loves me and reassured me that I could never be that heavy!) I guess I already knew that I was over the 200 number. Realizing it later, after the fact is still the shock that I needed!

Congrats on the 10lbs and on the new scale!!

Aww, that would be discouraging  but have came a long way! A similar thing happened to me when I first started out. We bought three different scales because I refused to believe I really weighted that much. I finally settled on scale number three because I figured the all couldn't be wrong, even though I secretly hoped maybe they just started making flawed scales as a conspiracy against women or something :D
