Does anyone else HAAAATE the heat? I don't remember always being like this... I get warm and uncomfortable even when it's 65 degrees... All winter we keep our house at 60, and that's perfect. Now that it's spring/summer... I just can't take the heat.
I've had my thyroid checked (a few times) as I know heat intolerance is a symptom of... one of the "thyroidisms" and the results came back normal.
Yup, our AC blasts alllllll day and night. I also have to have a fan on me at night... I can't sleep if I'm warm.
I found a good method for the exercising, though. I save it for the evening... exercise, get as sweaty and gross as I need to be... then take a shower and go stand naked in front of a fan. LOL. Omg, it's bliss.
I'm the happiest Michigander in the winter. LOL. Everyone else is complaining about the snow and their nostrils sticking together in the cold... I'm outside with a frozen low fat beverage, just relaxing. LMAO.
Jen I agree with you. Winter is the best. I will take a Texas ice storm over the 100 degree heat any day of the week. During the ice storm I will work from home until it thaws out.
Definitely me too! I have to wear things to make sure my armpits arn't covered or I'll get soooooooo hot lol I hate it, but I am unfortunately hypothyroid.
yup i hate the heat too and i sweat super easily just sitting around doing nothing. it's embarrassing. and i'm only 30 so i can only imagine what it will be like when i go through menopause.
I'm just an old person who hates the temperature constantly. It's too hot, it's too cold, it's too nice, it's too rainy.
Heat especially is the worst, though. I hate being sticky hot while not even -moving-. At least the other times of year I can just close the windows and put on a sweater. In the summer I have to stand in front of the AC.
I have changed since losing 82 lbs. I always was uncomfortable to the extreme in hot weather and my DW was always cold. Now we have switched
and despite living in central Florida I am comfortable.
Yesterday I spent most of the day outside in mid 90's and bright sunshine and did not even perspire. All my friends who were with me were constantly remarking about how hot it was. I was the only cool cucumber in the bunch.
Now if it gets down to 70 I am looking for my jacket.
I suppose this is one of the benefits of losing a lot of weight!!
^^ Yup, I'm with Larry. I used to not even wear a coat during the cold Nebraska winters. I'm not kidding, I didn't even have one that fit for 2 or 3 years and I was fine without one. I sweat ALL. THE. TIME! Now, however, after shedding an obese person, I am comfortable in even the most humid steamy heat, and freezing in any air conditioned room.
Today I push mowed for over 2 hours in 95 degree heat (about 85% humidity) and seriously did not break a sweat. It is awesome.
I LOOOOOOVE the heat! Well, until it becomes that dry type that makes it even uncomfortable to breathe. Heat with higher levels of humidity don't really seem to bother me. I am hypo and once the temp drops to 65 and under, I am freezing.
Yeah, I have to agree with Larry and Lori. I used to hate the heat something fierce. I just got back from the Caribbean, and for the most part, I was fine. I was even cold at times. We went tubing and whoa! That water was freezing! I had goose bumps on my face!
I don't know why you are experiencing this if you haven't before. Seems odd.
Lucky for you, we have been having a very cool spring in Michigan this year. Not lucky for me LOL I love the heat, and I hate air conditioning. I wait all year for it to get warm and the season is so short here, so I want the windows open as much as possible.
That said, my 13-year-old son HATES the heat, always has. The second it hits 75 he is complaining about how hot he is and seeking air conditioning. His dad is like that too. I was just telling someone yesterday that some people must just be more naturally intolerant of heat.
I live in the hot'n'humid south. So heat? Yeah, epidemic around here 8-9 months outta the year!
I didn't mind it as a kid, so much. But the fatter (and older) I got, the more heat intolerant I became. And now... perimenopause... my very own "built-in-heating-system"... ugh. (Somebody turn on the fan, woodja?? )
I simply cannot do heat unless I am near a swimming area... pool, beach, lake, etc. I have a pool at home, and live 10 minutes off the beach, so I'm good to go. As long as I can "get wet" and cool-off, I can deal. Without that option (heck, even a water hose will do in a pinch!) then I am a total air-conditioned worshipping chica!!
