Default Salt-induced water retention

I spent a week going crazy with salt, not sure why, but I think it's what made me put on a pound by weigh-in day. I don't know a lot about how sodium affects water and weight, but I was told that it does. How can I reverse this, just cut back on the salt?? I want to lose that damn pound again! I was doing so well with my exercise that week, so I was really disppointed by the gain!

Drink a lot of water and that should help. It may take a few days, though.
