Girls only poll
Just wondering if any girls out there know their ideal weight without getting too skinny and losing their girly curves. I know between 137 and 142 I actually lose a cup size. Any one else in my shoes?

I know that if I hit 113 I'll be skin and bones and entirely unhealthy. So my aim is 135-140. I'm not too worried about going down a cup size or two -- it'd be a good change! And I've a feeling I'll always be curvy, looking at my family.

"Too skinny" is SO subjective. There can be "skinny yet unfit", "unhealthy skinny" as in EDs, and also ppl who are genetically whispy but really rock fitness and health-wise.
I always tell my clients to focus more on what you can NOW do (i.e. lift heavy things due to weight training, or run up the stairs with minimal effort, etc.) than to look at changes in the mirror or numbers on the scale. Yes, those things help motivate us, but the real focus should be on the health factor.
My ideal weight for my height may be totally different for another. I'd hate to make someone who's genetics aren't like mine feel like a failure for not having the same figure.
Also, if you're already curvy, you'll most likely remain curvier than most your weight. I'm NOT curvy. I remain NOT curvy after all that I do. My cup size actually did not change one bit after going from 18% bf to 15% bf, but I have more cleavage due to my pec muscle growth. It's not a lot. But to each her own.

Somewhere between 140 and 160 I went from a 34B to a 36C. And after I had passed 160 by a little, then I became a 36D!
I'd really like to go back to a C again (some clothes just make me feel like I'm showing "too much" at a D)
But at 157 now... and still 36D (showing no signs of getting smaller)
Not sure what that means or how it works... (I was always pretty curvy at all weights).

MY ideal weight has me looking phenomenal. The BMI's ideal weight, on the other hand, is not suitable for my frame and takes excessive work to maintain comfortably. Therefore my ideal is only contingent on what *I* look and feel good at

I could weigh 500 lbs and I would still wear a AA cup. I am free to whittle myself down to a malnourished bag of bones without worrying about compromising my nonexistent curves.

I looked much more curvy and had a more girlish figure at 155-160. However, I wasn't happy with that weight. My main goal is long-distance running and having extra weight in that endeavor doesn't work as well for me. I know I don't really look very womanly anymore, but I am happy with my fitness goals and that makes the biggest impact on my happiness.

Im with you. No matter my weight, my cup size will never be eyond a B or A. I used to be a muscular size four when I weighed 135 pounds at 5'6" However, now I am older and at 150 I am a size ten or twelve. So Ill have to see what I feel like at 135...................

"Womanly" is in the eyes of the beholder. I personally think there's nothing more womanly than a strong and mighty body.

My girls have stayed nearly the same size until the last three pounds and suddenly there is major shrinkage, like every bit of those pounds came straight off my chest. So, I'd say 138 is the number I start to experience diminishing of the curves.

Well I'm a 32 DD right now and I would like to lose a cup size or maybe even two. I've always been self-conscious about my breasts/height combination but I think it's genetic because all the women in my family are short with quite large breasts and hips. so I think that I can get down to quite a low weight without losing too much of my "curves" but I guess it's an age and genetics thing.
I hate the word "CURVY" anyway. It's so subjective I struggle to know what people actually mean when they talk about it. I think small women can be "curvy" and feminine but there seems to be an increasing number of women who don't. And then we get into the whole "real woman debate" that keeps popping up on facebook via the groups my friends are joining. I have a vietnamese flatmate who's about 90 Ibs and just generally tiny but she still has a little curve on her figure and I think she loooks very 'girlie' but my boyfriend disagrees, go figure.

Haha...I have no idea. I have never been skinny. Even at my lowest weight though, I was still at least a D cup and maintained hourglass measurements throughout.
Besides, all women have "womanly" figures. It's part of being a woman!

Nope, no idea really. I'm not really bothered about losing my curves or reducing them greatly. I think i'll feel pretty womanly at any size

The medical recommendation for my height is 104-137. I know that if I'm any lower than 128 I'll be too small. 128-130 lets me keep my curves and in a healthy range.
