Today had the potential to be really bad...

  • but..it wasn't as bad as what it could have been. I went shopping early with my mom...she wanted to eat at white castle..i had 2 chicken sandwiches, half my fries..then tonight was my daughters preschool graduation and we were asked to go to the mexican restaurant afterwards. After not having any pop since Sunday I broke down and drank two...they actually forgot to bring me half my meal so I ate rice and some chips w cheese. I was full so I told them to not bring the meal I had ordered. So even though it wasn't great it could have been a lot worse! Tomorrow it's back to drinking lots of water and all day house cleaning. I'm hoping to make up for it. (I hope I posted in the right place...I'm still learning)

I honestly don't think that was all that bad. We have to have off days I think. It is better to once in a while treat ourselves instead of fully deprive ourselves. Keep your chin up.
  • Not every day is going to be perfect. I think you did rather well, and what's really telling is that you know that it's not the end of the road since you had a little food at a restaurant and drank some soda.

You're making plans to get right back up and move forward. That's how you're going to be successful =)
  • I make it a point to eat things that I like that way I don't feel deprived. It works extremely well as long as it doesn't turn into an everyday thing. I ate 1.5 donuts yesterday and showed a 1 pound loss between today and yesterday. I eat something that I really really want once a week. The donuts were not planned but when they were offered this time I said yes and there have been many times when I have declined the offer.

I think you did awesome to try and limit yourself and even more awesome that you don't feel it's the end of the road and are looking forward not dwelling on what you ate
  • I think it's a great idea to take it one day at a time..if you have a bad one ,so what , it's one bad day as long as you don't make one slip up a reason to give up ...every new day is a fresh start x
  • Thanks for all the kind words!! I was a bit emotional yesterday since it was her graduation and really just wanted to eat EVERYTHING I came into contact with, but I didn't. And I must admit the Pepsi tasted wonderful! I've been cleaning for 2 hours today( the dirty stuff...scrubbing bathroom and wood floors..ugh!) and back on the water. I showed no difference in weight from yesterday to today so I'm thankful for that. Again, thanks for everything you've all said. I KNOW I will do this!

    Mmm, donuts...

I did the same thing about a month ago with the donuts. After a swim workout, I went to the grocery store and got a donut to split with my roommate who was also returning from the swim workout. I'd forgotten how good donuts were. But it satisfied my sweet and bread craving all in one big bite.

So yeah, it was totally unplanned, but I did good in limiting myself to only half of it. And even with that, I managed to lose a lot of pounds that week because it was just one sweet thing in the grand scheme of things.

Good job, mcsr11, on making a bad day good and keeping up a positive attitude about it all.
