That garlic soup sounds awesome! When I was single, i used to bake cloves of garlic and spread them on crackers. Unfortunately, i'd end up eating a whole sleeve of ritz and smell like garlic for days, but I'm a woman that loves garlic!

Tomorrow I have another long walk planned with some P90X.
Also, have you guys ever had weird cravings while losing weight and working out? I'm talking WEIRD. Tonight my mouth is WATERING over the thought of combination Pizza Rolls dipped in chocolate icing/frosting. How gross *should* that sound?! Of course, that fat bomb will not be indulged, but still. The thought is sooooo tantalizing. I'm utterly confused over it.

I am making a personal note to this b/c there are so many commies I wanna make:
1. BOO to your scale! **Hits the "unlike" button!
2. Do you have Ab ripper X with your P90X? If so, do you utilize it? My trainer/personal friend is giving this to me as a "gift". I think I am in for quite a "treat"
3. Never in my ENTIRE life have I ever craved Pizza with chocolate.
Actually, I can probably count on one hand how many times I've craved chocolate. Yeah yeah, I'm weird! However, I did eat Totino's Pizza with French Onion Dip on top as a kid!
The only craving I typically get since April 7 is for Merlot. Not even to binge as I did last Friday, but just for the taste. Typically, I'm good with just a glass, b/c I love the taste. Last Friday was just ridiculous, esp when I'm still trying to lose. May not be so bad once I make it closer to goal
4. on the 6 miler! U go girl!

Hi everyone!
Zoodoo: lots of rain for us, too. Yuck! Congratulations on those small victories.
StaceyGee: It’s tough when the scale gets stuck like that. But you’ve come sooo far. That scales gotta move soon. And if you do have thyroid problems, that would explain the scale not moving.
Jomatho: congratulations on the category change
Jenfett: did you get your workout in?
DianaLA: You go, girl! You’re firmly in onederland now, aren’t you?
Oh, Sum, that’s really too bad about your MIL. That’s one thing about mine – she’s always been really good about things like that.
Novel: Enjoy your trip! I forget who suggested it, but someone said that they track their splurges. I wonder if you just track as you eat, it that will help. I’ll be thinking of you
TXgirl:
Aggie: A lot of people on this thread keep their calories quite low. I’d pass out at those levels. To lose weight I eat between 1800 and 2000 calories a day.
Berry: I hope you get some encouragement from your doctor, and that you find a new one whose a better fit . We have such a shortage of doctors in this part of Ontario that you can’t switch. If you quit a doctor, you are simply without a primary care physician . It’s resulted in a situation where too many doctors misuse their power. Oops, I got off on a rant there.
K9: congrats on the OP day
Diana3271: So that’s how you stay so consistent! I like a lot of variety, but it’s a pain tracking the calories every day. However, my breakfasts and lunches are just a few different choices – maybe I can use some of your strategy.
Pint: you’re doing so well on the workouts. Could be muscle mass you’re gaining. Have you double-checked your calorie intakes and portion sizes?
Shishkeberry: Enjoy the soup!
Andejean: hope you get better soon. One month is a long time to have a sinus infection.
It’s really, really late here. I’ll check back in tomorrow.

Berry good luck at the doctors!
krystal, Stacy and ZooDoo ~ tried the my fitness pal, and i guess because i put that i was moderately active i got a lot more calories that i can consume. at sedentary i got 1550 if i want to lose 1.5pds per week, and 1300 for 2 pds per week. i think i will try and stay there calorically. i think i can handle that. and as you said krystal, i wont eat my exercise calories and see how it goes. ive been eating 1600 and lost 2 pounds this week. but i exercised as well. i will see how this next week goes and reevaluate. thanks for the advice, myfitpal has a lot more food choices than fitday! (greek yogurt was not on fitday! hello! lol)
Larry~ i like your qoute!
roadbikerchic~ thats comforting...so far im ok at 1600. ive done 1200 cal diets, and couldnt stick with them. if i can lose, even slowly, then id prefer that and being able to stick it out. im really comfortable at 1600, i feel very satisfied, and never hungry. at 1200 i was angry and crabby,. and my husband was scared of me, haha....gonna see how the loss progresses for a few weeks before dropping the cals. good to see you were able to lose at 1800. are you very active?

Hey everyone! Big WOOSH for me! I'm at 171 for the second day in a row, down from 173!!!! Woo hoo! I've been working hard for this loss!
Thanks for all the congrats to DH. He graduated with his bachelors from Lawrence Tech University, which is in the Detroit area. He's looking at getting his MBA from MSU, though, which would be awesome. I totally have a husband again for at least nine months though!!
I have a very scary question for you all. I'm really considering becoming a stay at home mom, or at least lowering my hours at work to about 20 a week, to spend more time with little man. I was hired in at 20, but as they really liked my work, they've just slowly moved me up, and up, until I don't have much work-home balance anymore. My boss wouldn't even honor my dr's note for 25 hours a week while the cancer stuff was happening until I threatened to quit. After the radiation, she had promised me no more than 6 hour days/30 hours a week, but surprise! Here I am with my shortest day this week being a seven hour day, with some nines thrown in. I'm still sick, and tired, and not doing well. They are piling on more and more. I love what I do, I really really love what I do, but little man needs more of me than what he is getting. How do I do this? Have any of you made the work to home transition?
Thanks. I'm really worried about this.
I actually get out of work early today, so I will be back later for personals.

Wow, this is a really busy thread! Let's see if I can catch up...
RachaelJ – I hope yesterday was better for you, being sick is a horrible feeling. Hope you’re eating well and feeling great super-soon.
Zoodoo – Thanks for the welcome Amazing for you that your clothes are getting looser, I have days when I think they feel loose and then days when I feel like I’m bulging out again. As you say, small victories! Well done on avoiding the cookie and getting in 15 mins exercise, every little helps.
Stacy – Sorry to hear you’re stuck at 175, but I really admire your attitude. Deciding to make a healthy lifestyle change and staying positive is more important that numbers! I’ve been stuck at the same weight for the last 3 weeks, but I’m just glad I’ve not gained, and I’ve been really upping my workouts. Nothing on you though -
yoga, upper body & abs workout, 1 hour treadmill, AND spin all in one day! Wow!
Jomatho – Congrats on moving into the overweight category! Just think how much better for your health that is! I didn’t used to record splurges either but have been making myself recently. Knowing that everything that passes my lips has to go down on my food diary really helps me stay strong and avoid going totally out of control.
Jenfett – Well done on taking your gym bag to work, I hope you made it to the gym! Let us know how you got on – baby steps are the best way to get started, good for you for taking them
Diana LA – I’m not sure where all the new people (including me) have come from! I think maybe May is the time when summer dawns upon us and we realise we can’t hide behind winter clothes for much longer. Well done for your weigh-in, I’m glad it’s filled you with motivation and positive thoughts. No snacking today!!
Roadbikerchick – Wow, your garlic soup does sound mega garlicky! Tasty though. Over here in the UK you can buy pickled garlic cloves from markets / health food shops. They’re a great snack if you fancy something to pick at that’s really good for you.
Shishkeberry – Well done on making your meal plan for the week. I keep meaning to do that then never getting round to it. I’m going ok so far this week but it would be much easier to plan ahead!
Krystal – Glad to hear your awesome planned day was awesome ;-) I’m a grazer too and would really struggle to eat the same things every day. I have a rule where if I eat something high in sugar in the morning (lots of fruit, yogurt etc) then I’ll make sure my lunch / dinner has no carbs and healthy fats, like salad with chicken and avocado or a stir fry. If I’ve had eggs in the morning I’ll have a yogurt or cereal bar later, I find this really helps me keep the balance.
Kristiina – Sorry to hear your MIL is being difficult. That’s their job though right? Just kidding, it’s good to know that other people are more understanding. They’re the ones you should listen to!
Melissa – It’s good to hear you’re happy about checking in at the docs a healthier person, what a great feeling! I only check in twice a year, always with someone different, and they always nervously suggest I should ‘think’ about losing some weight! I’m waiting for the day that doesn’t happen! I’m jealous of all your gardening fun – I have a 12ft square concrete roof terrace that I’m struggling to keep a little veg pot collection on. I would love a real lawn!
Jo - I’m a really slow jogger too, I tend to feel ill if I try and speed up any. But I didn’t used to be able to jog for more than 5 minutes, now I can keep going for over half an hour so I feel like I’m making progress! Any improvement is a victory in my eyes
Novelist – Hope you have a great time away. Don’t get too worried about ordering in restaurants – always get a big green salad and look for steamed or baked fish, poultry and veg options. Good luck staying on track and try not to stress!
MzJuicyD – Sorry to hear about that rubbish man. He’s obviously missing out. Well done on your great attitude of moving on to the next one, there are plenty of nice guys out there who have the brains to go for great girls in all shapes and sizes
Andejean – Hope you recover from your sinus infection really soon, sorry to hear you’ve been poorly for so long. :hugs:
TXGirl487 – Amazing that you’re having a great week so far – keep up the good work!
Aggie – I try and stick to 1200-1800 cals a day. I definitely think you can lost weight on 1800 if you’re getting in a lot of exercise too, but 1600 is even better if you’re happy with that. As Larry mentioned – a lot of it is about what you eat – a huge salad can have the same number of calories as a biscuit but is a million times better for you.
Diana3271 – Hope all goes well with your attorney.
Pint Sized Terror – I’m really interested in the P90X, do you enjoy it? It looks so hard to me. I don’t have weird cravings so much, but I have a binging problem when I’d stand in front of the fridge and have some of everything, so I’d end up eating cheese, chocolate, ham, mushrooms, olives, crackers, cookies etc all at once. Not a good combo!
Larry – You mentioned you have a really low calorie intake but eat a higher volume of foods than others. What are some of your favourite low calorie foods that are part of your plan?
------------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday I went to my pump class at the gym, really pushed it and feeling the effect today, a great feeling! (if a little achey) Didn’t bring the gym kit with me today so going to have a rest day and then make up for it tomorrow.
Had a cereal bar as an extra snack yesterday, and a 1% milk hot chocolate before bed. A bit naughty but still avoiding any binges, fingers crossed for my weigh-in tonight!
WOW! The biggest post ever, I really need to get on and do some work now. Have a great day everyone!

Hey Nikki, I missed you off my mammoth post as it took me so long to write! sorry to hear your work's troubling you. I'm afraid I don't have any personal experience or advice to offer you, but wish you all the best in making the decisions, and I'm sure others on here will have more experience and be able to offer you kind words of support.

Yesterday 05/17
Breakfast: 2 slices turkey bacon, 1/2 grapefruit
Lunch: Sugar Free Jell-o, left over skirt steak about 2 ounces, black bean salad less than 1/2 a cup
Snack: Cheese Stick
Dinner: Broccoli Cheese Soup and Chicken Salad from Quizno (total Calories for dinner 725)
Excercise: 1 hour Brisk Walk
Being that Monday I over exerted myself, I still didn't feel totally recovered throughout the day yesterday. I opted for a light workout, so I just walked. I stayed within my calorie limits for the day, which I'm pleased about since I didn't cook dinner. I found the black bean salad recipe online and I must say I didn't like it, so I won't make that again. So I'll be back to green salads for lunch.

Good Morning, Everyone! I hope you have a fantastic on plan day!
I am going to try to come back, when I get to work, to do some personals.
I've had another drop on the scale. I am in the 145 range. That's were I wanted to get. I am going to try to maintain in this range, with the idea that I will bounce up during TTOM, etc. I have started following my TF rotation more closely how it was written instead of doing more. On days that they have rest days, I will still do a workout. I don't feel that my, once 300-400 pound body is like a "normal" person's body. I think something changes once you are morbidly obese and/or you are obese all of your life. I have read about it, so I will just keep that idea in my head. I am not changing my daily calories, but I am making some changes at other times. Tonight will be the first change that I make. Today I am getting my hair cut and we are going to that Japanese restaurant that I like. In the past, I didn't eat the rice that came with my meal, I substituted vegetables. On this day, once a month, I will eat the rice. I will monitor the amount of rice they give me to make sure it's not way too much. The other change I have made is that, I have struggled on the weekends. Due to our weekend schedule, my meals are spaced out farther than they are during the week. Especially on Saturday, I find myself getting light headed. I have added in an extra snack (cottage cheese w/fruit or yogurt @150 calories). I did a lot better this past weekend. I only had to do this on Saturday. The whole idea here, for me, is that my weight loss has slowed considerably over the last few months. That tells me that I am eating/exercising close to what my body needs to maintain my weight. Based on that, I don't really need to make any major changes. I will make the small changes that I mentioned above and then analyze from there.
Either yesterday or today will be my last day for TTOM. We'll see how today goes.

Just a quick check in to say the scale moved again! Down .4. Maybe it didn't get the memo that I normally stall out this time of the month? whatever... probagbly means I'll lose less the second half of the month, but the only thing that matters is that I am chugging along.
SUn is out - so mulching today, of course!

diana32~ i cant wait to have your problem. to be at that point where i am finding what works for my body, and no longer needing to lose. i have a very long road ahead of me but reading your statement "being obese your whole life" kind of made me realize i dont want to be on this weight loss journey when im older. im 28, id like to see myself healthy and in shape still in my 20's. i want my 30s to be full of energy, and looking fab! one day at a time right?

Checking in for yesterday, I was very busy. Had the same exact meal plan as the day before (POP), I was just at a track meet instead of baseball game to mess with the timing of my meals . I did rest all day yesterday, and my joints feel better, but I feel so tired and blah today. Trying to find the motivation to workout right now. I don't want to do it, but know I will feel better if I do. I am currently half way to my monthly running goal, so I need to stick to my schedule of run three days, rest one day.
Berry, please send some of that sunshine my way! The wind has finally died down here, but we need some sun to warm things up again.
Back later for (hopefully) some personals, lots of great things going on with everyone!
Have a great non-blah day!
