So I haven't updated my profile and don't yet have a slider clicker thing, but I am down 12 pounds in about 3-4 weeks now. i feel great.. but the thing is I dont really SEE a change in the mirror, the way my clothes fit, etc.
So the question is.. should I be able to notice a 12 pound loss? I mean its not like i'm 400 pounds but I still don't feel any skinner.
I started feeling skinnier at about 20-30 pounds but I didn't start looking skinner is far as I could tell until I lost about 40. You are so tall and your starting BMI is lower then mine was so you should start seeing results fairly soon. Keep in mind the first month or so is mostly water weight so it doesn't affect your appearence as much as later weightloss will.
Well, I know for me that my first 10 pounds didn't make me feel or look any differently either. Same shirt size, same pants, etc. The last place I gained the weight was in my back so that is where it first came off. And also my legs. So because it was in those places, it was harder to notice than - let's say - my waist, hips or tummy. But after my back and legs slimmed down I started noticing my waist getting smaller. Unfortantely I am at a place where even though I lost a decent amount of weight, my mind hasn't caught up to it yet. I still see virtually the same reflection in the mirror as I did 30 pounds ago. But it's far from discouraging. It just motivates me more!
Congrats on your 12 pound loss so far! Keep up the great work! You will be at goal before you know it! I mean, look how far you have come in such a short time already. You are definately doing something right!
Hi there....new to the group but very excited to find a place like this to come when I'm in need of some encouragement. I am on week 3 and am down 11 pounds....and about the only thing Ive really noticed is that my bra doesnt AGGRAVATE me as much as it used too. I have a total of 60 pounds I'd like to lose...I'm wishing the snow and rain would stop so I can get outside and walk off some new found energy.
I started feeling different after about 2kg (less than five pounds). My co-workers mention it constantly around 4kg (less then ten pounds). I'm a similar height to you, but I think the weight so far has just happened to come off my face and my stomach so I can feel the difference in the way my pants fit and it's more visible to other people.
I didn't see a physical difference at 10 pounds, but that was when the first big change was noticed by me- I could get up off of my knees without help. For me that was huge. Now at 20 pounds my clothes are looser-I still feel that I look the same, no one except my Mom has noticed physical changes( this includes my DH, but then he never seemed to notice that I gained 70 pounds either ). I am really short though and it will take a lot more before I have really noticable changes. Congrats on the 12 pounds so far!!

Still at 80 pounds down I couldn't SEE anything but I definitely FELT something. I could climb stairs and walk further distances easier, I could do more things that I couldn't before, my seat belt didn't go out as far, on fair rides I fit better, etc. It might take a while but you will feel some difference at some point, whether you see it or not at first I guarantee there will be a moment it'll just come to you.
I'd say I started noticing a change in my body around 15 lbs gone. I think the biggest factor is where your body gets rid of the fat first. For me it was my arms randomly...I still haven't noticed that much of a difference in my hips/legs...and that's at 46 lbs gone!
I see a difference in my face at 20 pounds. I can actually feel my abs again..haha! Still have alot of fat to make disappear but I'm seeing some differences. I definitely feel less tired...more my actual age.
Everyone's different. I've lost around 50 lbs and I've barely gone down 1 pants size. I think it depends on how much you've got to lose and where your body stores it.
At about 7 pounds, the fat on my belly started to get smaller (my pants didn't snag on it when I pulled them up, and I couldn't feel it with my knees when I bent my knees to go to sleep.) At around 13 pounds, I moved into smaller pants, my torso and hips were losing weight and I can't wear 12's anymore.
Looking at pictures of me, I think I look the same, but I know I am taking up less space.
I can always tell when I lost even 5 lbs because it first goes in my waist. Most of the weight is in my stomach so I'm glad that I can tell a difference, even if only to me. For me, it wasn't so much a physical change that excited me but was the fact that I could run again without feeling like I would die. I still have ways to go but I'm happy to feel better.
