Default Confession - Need Support

So last week - I basically took the whole week off. I didn't go to the gym, I didn't count calories, I didn't watch what I ate - I screwed up big. Beginning this morning, I told myself I am getting back on track. I am going to the gym at lunch, and I planned and brought appropriate meals. I'm just so disappointed in myself - and feel I need to share it to be held accountable.

Kimberly ~ Good for you for getting back on track! Sometimes that is the hardest thing to do. Do you know what it was that caused you to take the week off? Was your eating too restrictive? Were you tired? Maybe if you find the root of the reason why you stopped it will help you as you move forward.

Unhappy Relax, You Can Do It!

Try not to "beat yourself up"-you know that saying. Your body will at times use all of its tricks to get you to eat because it wants to build up fuel (verified by a nutrition class) ! Although getting back on track can be hard start by eliminating the no-nos and adding the excercise in (slowly if you can't do it all right away).

Remind yourself of how well you've done so far! I have been binge eating since my early twenties (a stress thing) and I have now decided I have to get the weight off for good. My insurance won't cover any type of surgery, so I am on my own. Fortunately I took a college nutrition course last fall and I learned that there is a lot more to healthy weight loss than most of us learn growing up.

Getting back on track will slowly get rid of the cravings. Don't dwell on the past week, move forward and you'll do fine.

I am no expert, but I've been there too!

Kimberly, don't be too disappointed in yourself, it happens to pretty much all of us at some point and often several times. The main thing is that you realized you weren't doing as good as you could be and you have jumped back on the wagon. You've got this, you know you can do it and you will, with possibly a few stumbles along the road, just keep getting back on the wagon.

yes congrats on getting back on track, a week is just a hiccup although it can feel huge, but you recognized that you needed to get back on track, the main thing is not letting your week, turn into a month or even a year

You got back on track after only a week and I think that's more important. It says a lot about your willpower and it's something you should be proud of.

dont beat yourself up because it happens. I too took a little break. I lost 5 pounds last week but then I slacked off. I havent gone to the gym or worked out since tuesday. Only thing I did was count calories. I feel little guilty about it, but hey, stuff happens. Im hitting the gym today though!

At least you figured it out after a week!

I'd re-evaluate your plan- is it too much too soon? Are you not eating enough fiber or protein? Figuring out what what wrong is the first step towards going in the right direction

I can't thank you all enough for the kind words!
I don't know why, exactly, I fell off my plan. It began on Sunday - and just trickled on along each day. I was home from work on Tuesday and Wednesday because of snowstorms - which again, prevented me from going to the gym, and one day just turned into the next. I have recognized that a big factor for me is the PLANNING ahead. At work - I bring my lunch and I don't HAVE other choices at my fingertips. That helps.
I did go to the gym at lunch today - and feel good about doing so.
Thanks again for the support and PUSH that I needed!

Well think of it as a learning experience. When you reach goal you are probably going to stop doing a lot of what you're doing now. Now that you see how you would handle being off plan you can reevaluate what changes you need to make and reestablish your commitment. If you didn't gain any weight no harm no foal just get right back to work.

Don't worry Kimberly, I did the same thing to. Don't be too hard on yourself. It happens to all of us! Keep going forward! You can do it!
