Is there a record for the number of "Starting overs"?

  • Good grief - I need to get a grip! I was so motivated before Christmas, and suddenly all that enthusiasm seems to have disappeared. Gotta get it back!

I keep bouncing up and down on the same 5 pounds, and I'm tired of the achy knees and legs (and the same boring, tight clothes).

    Here's my plan:
Start counting/tracking those calories again (target: 1300-1500 range)
Be INTENTIONAL about everything I eat (that mindless grazing must stop)
    Exercise 5x/week
    Drink the water!!!

I need to stop sacrificing my future for a momentary culinary pleasure!

Tell me I'm not the only one who has started/restarted and lost count! I want to restart and FINISH this time!
  • The only losers are those that DON'T start over.

Starting over is part of life, we do it in everything. Don't beat yourself up. You have a back log of experience and information and every time you start over, you are really starting in a better position, no matter what you think.

Now, get on the wagon and don't fall off this time!
  • You aren't a failure as long as you keep trying! I have this written on my daily log.

    Good luck Debbie
  • I also find it hard to stay on task. I suspect part of my problem is the winter and the seasonal "blues" that go with it. I don't like the cold and even though I do exercise indoors I want comfort food.... WAH, WAH , WAH...

OK, enough pity party for me. I sympathize with you; we'll prevail.
  • Thanks for the encouragement, everyone! It's nice to know I'm not the only one who ever feels this way.

I'm off to a good start today, and it feels great to be getting re-focused!
  • Most people don't decide to lose wight and stick with it the first time. Don't be so hard on yourself. I've been trying for years and other people longer than that. Maybe you need to evaluate why you become bored with it and what you can do to change your plan. Maybe you're starting off at a fast pace. I started working on my diet for the first 2 weeks and gave up things I love to eat and went from there. You'll get there as along as you don't give up and just say forget it
  • See my username. You are not alone.
