Default Road to Salt Lake

So, October of 2009 I moved from Salt Lake City to Texas for school and (a little little bit) for a guy. When I left SLC I was somewhere between 260 and 290, not sure where because I avoided scales at the time. I do know that the smallest anyone there knew me at was around 260 though.

My friends got engaged over the Christmas holidays and has set the date of their wedding for 11/11/11 and that weekend is also my 27th birthday, I am determined to make it up there for a visit and for the weekend, and I want to blow everyone's minds with how far I've come. That gives me about 10 months to lose as much weight as possible, and get as close to goal as possible...

My official weigh in last Friday put me at 248.6, which means I have 98.6 lbs to lose to hit my goal. I would LOVE to hit that in time, but I am trying to be realistic and I know with nearly 100 lbs to lose there will be stalls and whatnot. I am not giving myself an actual goal to hit, just as much weight loss as I can manage.

I started this thread as a sort of accountability thread for myself, I plan to post my progress as I go and I hope that it will help keep me motivated.

Yay for you! you can do it. I also want to lose weight for a relatives wedding, which is in april. I hope to be at goal by then, at least close to it. Funnily enough, I couldnt lose weight for my own wedding 2 years ago (im a stress eater) but I know I can do it this time.

Interesting: years ago, I moved from Texas to Park City. I moved many more places after that, but now am back in SLC.

Good luck coming your way from Salt Lake!

Hehehe Petite Powerhouse what a coincidence good luck to you nickyj! you have alot shorter time to get ready in, but you don't have overly far to go.

So first week down, didn't exercise as much as I'd like, the cold made me dread getting out of bed in the morning so I skipped the gym a couple times and plans after work prevented me from going then. Ate on plan every night except last night when BF brought home Chinese food, went over calories but mmmm so yummy!

Even with last nights Chinese food I weighed in this morning at 244.6, an even 4lbs loss. YAY!! now on to week 2.

I love that you have a timeline, yet with no specific goal weight in mind. That's awesome! That sounds like you're going to stick to a plan every single day, no matter what the scale says just to see how far you can get 10 months from now if you simply do not give up. That's the key anyway...to not give up, no matter what. If you do that, the weight will come off. Sometimes it will drop off and sometimes it might stall. But in the end, if you just keep going, it will come off.

I started the weight loss process and then found out my cousin is getting married this March. So I have a how-far-can-I-get goal too. You can do it! I've lost over 80 pounds for the wedding I'm going to!

Congratulations Eliana!!!! Thanks AnnieDrews, I know I will, Just getting all the way down would be sooooo amazing

So this week I only dropped 0.6 lbs boo

It's ok though. I had a bad week, it was cold so I kept putting off getting out of my warm bed until I absolutely had to for work, I only went to the gym twice this week and ate out three times.

Added to that I started taking iron supplements for my anemia and that has... erm... stopped me up as iron tends to do.

All in all it makes me glad I am not up this week.

I did discover that, while I am not directly a stress eater in terms of I get more or specific cravings when stressed, stress lowers my strength in telling myself no when the normal daily 'ooooh I WANT!' and I am more likely to give into whatever it is that sounds good.

Well, 94 pounds to go... hopefully next week will be better.

This week wasn't good either, that whole cold thing still, plus had a couple bad eating days as well. I gained almost two pounds, I think mostly water weight because while my eating wasn't quite on plan it also wasn't 5000+ calories over plan.

Either way I'm trying to crack back down and get back on plan. I know I can do this I just need to be stubborn and be tough on myself lol

I did alot better this week. Stayed on track with food and went to the gym most days. I figured out that I have JUST enough time to fit the gym in on my lunch break, so the mornings I didn't go before work because I didn't want to get out of bed due to the cold, I went at lunch.

It broke my stall and I lost 5lbs this week. YAY!!!

Between the flu and my crazy schedule I haven't been updating this. I was up the first week then still up a hair the second. this week I got back on track fully and dropped to 233.0.

I recently fit into a pair of size 20 pants that I bought at the tail end of high school or shortly after graduation. Yay!!

I've also decided that I am going to try to join the air force if I can get down to the max weight before their age cut off. I would have to complete basic training before my 28th bday. I have approx 47 lbs to drop before I could enlist so I think I should be able to get down to weight with time to spare. Ideally I would like to enter basic at the beginning of 2012 because it is located in here in Texas and I DO NOT want to be trying to complete it once the weather heats up too much lol

I started up with a personal trainer a couple weeks ago, it kicks my *** and makes me crazy sore but it is a weird good bad feeling if that makes any sense.

correction, the cut off for the air force is 27 so I'd have to drop almost 50lbs and complete basic before Nov that seems impossible
