Battling the 170's!
Hey ladies.....I am finally out of the 180's (barely) and now find myself in a battle with the 170's. My goal is to be near the lower end of them by the end of July. I am bound and determined to be able to say 169 before August!! :carrot: Who is with me?! Shall we do daily weigh ins/check in?

Me too -- and I always struggle to get out of the 170s when I'm trying to lose. So, I'm totally with you on this (I'm aboug 177 and would love to be 169 by August ;) ), but I believe we have a popular "getting out of the 170s thread" around here somewhere, if you look for it.

You know, it's funny you ask. I just entered 179 two days ago. I know I can't make 169 in three weeks though. I have lost 1 pound a week for 6 months. I don't see that changing any time soon, but I'm okay with that. Good luck though!

Well darn it. I searched this forum and the others for a 170's thread, because I know there was one a while back, but couldnt find it anywhere.

I couldn't find a 170 thread either, unless it is for maybe the 20 year old and I'm in my 30's. I've been stuck b/w 173-175 lately and can't wait to see the scale at 169.5! Good luck!

Great! I'll start. I swore off alcohol but got weak on Saturday and a bit again on Sunday during the World Cup celebrations and downed a couple of rum and diet cokes. But otherwise I've really controlled myself, and now I'm finally down to 175(.5) after what felt like 2 months of cycling between 177 and 180.
I'm going to Vegas in two and a half weeks. I'm really kicking my efforts into high gear, so I'm not as upset looking at pictures this year as I was last time around! I'm doing this primarily for health rather than appearance, but all of my friends are in fantastic shape (athletes, runners and the like), and I looked like a hulk standing next to them in our pictures. |

So I messed up a little bit last night and got way too hungry before dinner. Hungry enough that I was shaky and light headed. Cannot do that again. Not only did I eat way too much but I felt horrible. This mornings weigh in should be spectacular! Not! I am going to Vegas this year too! But not til October. I absolutely love it there! To make it even worse, I am meeting my boyfriends mom and grandma there, whom I have never met before, so I want to be down quite a bit before then. I know what you mean about the pictures. I feel the same way lately! It sounds like we have a lot of the same goals, and plans eating and exercise wise. I am focusing on vegetables, fruits, lean meat and whole grains. Though I have a tough time eating the carbs, since it has been ingrained into my head that they are bad. I am also lifting heavily again 4x a week and doing my best at cardio, which I have always hated. I just ordered the P90X system and am going to start that as soon as it gets here. I have friends that have had awesome luck with it. So.....off to the scale I go. I have been weighing myself every day, so that I can see how much I fluctuate during the week. Usually keeps me a little more on track too. |
Feeling a little bit better. Even though I blew it last night a little, still down to 178.6 this morning! Broke that 179 number! :-) I know, its not much, but I will take it!

WTG, Peaches, having that "8" there makes a big difference psychologially, and it means you are solidly in 170 territory. Oh your Vegas trip sounds a little stressful than the usual for me (bachelorette parties, getting falling-down drunk and then gorging ourselves at the Bellagio buffet, hahaha), but at least you have a lot of time to prepare yourself, mentally and physically!

170s are always my hardest. i feel so much better when im in the 160s, i can usually start wearing my sz 8s again. weigh in is tomorrow...im really hoping for 169, but it might just be another week battling this decade for me. we'll seeeee ;)

I was 171 (I know, my ticker still says 165 from my lowest point, sort of a fluke I think, in around April) a few days ago and am hoping to permanently exit the 170s soon. Am hoping we'll all be hanging out in a 'battling the 160s' thread soon!

Sounds like a thread for me :D I am not sure I can realistically reach 169 by August 1st, but it would be great to be in the low 170's! I am committed to getting in my 3-4 workouts a week and tracking all my calories.
